Car and Driver: Ferrari F12 is corvette like
In many comparisons between Ferrari and Corvettes, it's often said that the Vette borrows shape and styling cues from Ferrari. I just got my Car and Driver with the Ferrari F12 review and here is a quote from the article:
"The end result is a car that looks like the offspring of an FF and a 599. It's unmistakably Ferrari, although the proportions are very CORVETTE -LIKE". I just found it amusing that they mentioned the Vette in a Ferrari review. Obviously I am not saying that Ferrari borrowed anything from the Vette, but merely observing that the Corvette was mentioned in the review of a new Ferrari.
Also, the illustration of the F12 on page 42 looks a lot like what we have seen in the preview illustrations of the C7.
What are your thoughts?

Yes, I see the similarities...but then again, I have always seen similarities between the exterior design or Ferrari and Corvette. Nothing new now with the introduction of the F12...

I don't see too many similarities myself. But if you were too look at the suspension of the F12, I bet many things would look familiar.

The C6 performance derivatives have managed to earn an unrivaled performance reputation. There was a recent comparison test between a Mclaren, Ferrari and Corvette. The ZR1 came in second. The Zr1 was half the price of the competition.
There were no complaints about the Corvette interior other than it was not as plush as the others. What an achievement for GM to have earned that kind of reputation. Maybe F12 cues were copied from the C6, lol.

THen again, someone around here thinks the C7 looks like a 90's Nissan 300ZX...

I know quite a few that would not know the difference between the F12 and the 599
There could be confusion between the FF and the F12
The devil is in the details and the C7 does share details with the F12

Sorry man, anyone who has visual confusion between the FF and the F12 is in need of cataract surgery.

I think the C7 lights might have a Ferrari-like shape. Beyond that, once you see that F12 hood with the deep air channels leading to the 'air-bridge', it is very different than anything I have seen. Very strange stuff but the car overall is very cool.

What were they thinking? The FF has got to be the ugliest car Ferrari ever produced! It looks like one of those older BMW Z3 Coupes. Ranks right up there with the Porsche Panamera.

I agree with the C7 sharing a similar front lights shape with the F12. Not only this, but the slope to which they lay on the bodywork should also be similar.

I think it is a lot better proportioned than the Z3 coupes and the Panamera.
