Same technology used on the Z06s since 2002.

It seems like the 2 piece exhaust valves are taking most of the blame for the LS7 Z06 engine failures.

Anyone know if they are going to continue using them in the LT1 ??

Both the exhaust and intake valves (totally different ) are described in detail in some of the material set forth in some threads here. In both instances they are multi-part valves comprised of different materials.

I followed quite a few of the LS7 exhaust valve failure threads. In those failures, there was also massive valve guide wear, and theory was that as the guide wore more and more, the valve head would not seat right, which would put force on the valve head and eventually snap the head off.

The LS6 which has the same basic setup never had this issue. So, it could be the valve guide wear on the LS7 was what ultimately resulted in the valve failures in the LS7 engines.

Yes, sodium filled hollow exhaust valves. Just like current Z and ZR. And the new Viper. And other high performance engines.

It has to be the valve or the guide. There's no possibility of any z06 failures could result from driver error from over revving the engine, no possibility any of those failures would have been prevented by an automatic tranny that can't be broken by an inadvertent downshift from 5th to 2nd at 140, no chance at all of that.
