Why are you trying to convince everyone to like the C7's Camaroish back end when alot of us dislike the Camaro back end?
First you said that the C7 rear doesn't resemble the current Camaro and now you are comparing the 1970 Corvette and Camaro. Hmmmm? You just contradicted yourself.
At least in 1970 they passed down the Corvette's lights to the Camaro and not the other way around. Both 1970's are great looking cars!

So you can honestly say that when you look at the C7 rear renderings that you don't see a Camaro resemblance at all? Come on man! You're not fooling anybody. You must have some stock in GM to convince us otherwise.

Can you honestly say that they look alike? I am not attempting to fool anybody. If ANYONE would make their vehicle purchase decision based upon what others think about the way it LOOKS, they are totally lost

Honestly, yes it does very much resemble the Camaro rear end to me, especially the tail lights. We just have different opinions and I'm still hoping for something different with the rear come Jan 13th.
And I agree about not basing purchases on others opinions besides my own.

Slightly, but not by a lot IMO. And FYI, I don't own stock in anything...

That said, I don't like the new styling anyways, no matter where it came from. As far as I'm concerned, origin is irrelevant. If it looks good to me, then it looks good. If it doesn't, it doesn't. C'est la vie.

Looking at the 1970s above, one thing you have to consider is that the Corvette design came first (that version came out in '78). Today it would appear the Corvette is following the lead of the Camaro.
BTW, you have to look past whether they look like each other or not - it's the design details that you have to look at. The Corvette is adding design details of the Camaro, such as the tail light shape and the surface elements. The Corvette is going from fairly smooth lines on the C6 to a lot of lines going hear, there and everywhere on the C7.

Agreed. The C6 Coupe was more than "fairly smooth". Subsequent models added more surface clutter, the GS badge and the ZR1 hood skylight being examples.
The Japanese once called it "surface excitement". To me, it's simply clutter. Shapes are far more important to my sense of visual perfection. Clutter is a distraction and a detraction, IMHO.

I agree. To me it's not so much about what mimics what or who came first but a matter of what looks good, and that's where I'm having an issue with the C7 illustrations shown thus far. The rear is angular and the front more rounded/flowing. Maybe the rear design is a function of aerodynamics as needed for the race program? Until we actually see the reveal on 1/13 it's all speculation, but from what it sounds like the most recent illustrations are reasonably accurate, which may be a disappointment to many. I can handle change, but it's got to look good. I still plan to order one after the first of the year when my dealer accepts deposits.
