Yes the C6 is a noisy car. I am also hoping there is something in the new design that reduces noise. I replaced the GY tires with FS WO RF and they are a bit quieter but the noise is still there.
One time I had two comforters in the back of my 3rd gen Camaro sucking up all the noise and I couldn't believe the difference. It was like driving in silence. The 3rd gens also had a noise problem and I think its due to the hatch glass.

Yes then you will not hear the noise. There are electronic systems that generate noise frequencies that cancels unwanted noise. We had it installed in the companie's Corporate Jet, Challenger 604. When you turned the system off it was amazing how much noise was eliminated.

I don't know why I didn't think of this simple solution earlier:

How much do you think it would take to fill the a Corvette interior?

I always use Michelin tires.. They made half the noise of Goodyear. New vs New

It's been in the new Equinox since around 2009 as well. I think it is reasonable to expect it on C7.

Let's hope so.

I installed a $100 insulation kit that was specific for my current car and it quieted it down dramatically and the entire kit couldn't have weighed more than 3#. It was a great investment.

I've owned a C4, C5, and a C6 and the road noise has improved greatly in every generation. I suspect this will be better than the C6 and is the least of my concerns...

I love the sound of a super sports car, but hate tire whine (excessive in my Z06) and dislike the creaking of the plasticy center console when I use it to brace myslef when spiritedly going around a corner.

It was an aftermarket kit for an import. It was a dramatic difference though.

In the modern world of phones and business occurring in cars, the C7 needs to be very quiet while just cruising in 6th or 7th and w/ the windows up. Nothing else is really acceptable.

This brings up a good point. Maybe if the C7 has a better quality of materials inside, it'll help reduce road noise.

Ig I'm too young for this thread. I just hear a bunch of old farts complaining bout their $50-80k supercar not being quiet like a Cadillac or $200-300k supercar. It's where the Corvette cuts short is comfort quality. Maybe this new awesome interior will help some noise

I have a Corsa exhaust system. Has a beautiful idle and great cruising sound. When you stand on it , wow is it LOUD....better then stock in both worlds. Quiet is nice when you want it but noise rocks the world in a Corvette...

This is what I used and it works great http://www.corvette-web-central.com/...-deadener.html Two stage system easy install. It really helped to make the Borla Exhaust bareable!

You replaced an old worn out set of tires with new ones and they're quieter. So you conclude Michelin is quieter than GY???

And how exactly how did you measure the noise level?

Here are some actual facts on tire noise:

It's been said that the hatch area is one of the largest culprits.
I think that there will be an option this time for sound insulation package with a heat shield included. I hated placing anything in the beverage holder in the center console and get it heated up to 110 degrees. Since I cannot drive the Corvette in the winter months; it was another crappy cost cutting measure by Corvette.

Michelins are quieter. Sorry if you get butt-hurt trying to defend your beloved Goodyears.
