C7 side profile rendering...is this correct?
Been gone for a week & don't know if it's old news, but is this a legit illustration of the C7? There was an earlier CF post/link to this on edmunds;
http://www.edmunds.com/car-news/deta...oit-debut.html
It looks legit, albeit stretched, long & ugly, but legit...

Thanks, figured I'd some catching up to do. maybe it's just me but the *** end looks even bigger/longer than the C6? It's obviously going to look better in the flesh, & be narrower, but that profile just doesn't look as tight & integrated as the C6.

If you look at the camoed spy shots you can see that there is padding added to the butt of the C7 to make it look like a C6. The C7's butt is smaller but how much smaller is open to interpretation til 1-13-13.

I think the Japopnik render more accurately reflects the tire diameter in relation to the wheel wells.

nice
The Caravaggio creation looks a ton better than this...just my $.02...
they messed up the vette real nice....especially the rear end...sorry I just aint ready for a Camaro/Vette...hope I am wrong.

Side profiles (flat with no perspective) are never flattering. Nobody actually looks at a car that way. Judgements based on this view, especially those comparing it to different angles of other cars, are not to be trusted.

Just read the CorvetteBlogger article...wow...not surprised how techy-modern the instruments/dash etc are, but I'm SO Damn Glad I got a '12 GS...
..ARM..active rev match on a manual??...are you friggin kidding me?? Is it gonna wipe people's asses when they overcook a turn too? I know TC & AH are great features, but at least you can turn them off when needed...all this techno gadgetry leaves me cold...& I'm only in my 40's..
ps; & I like my C6 GS side profile a lot more than what I'm seeing here...& I really like my 6 old-school analog gauges too.
I will say the C7 has some bitchin top vents, nice headlights, power-dome hood, & likely a very sharp cockpit, but I fear it'll be just too modern-techno IMHO.
Full disclosure: I'd much rather have an F86 Sabre than an F18 Hornet...
End rant.

If a car's side profile is not flattering, then there is something wrong with the car. Discuss.
I hope that, with a lower angle the c7 would have as pleasing a front arch rise. But, maybe that is a consequence of going with straighter lines. The Jalopnik is already the zr1 model, so unfortunately it is all you are going to get.

Yeah, you are a bit behind. I would go to the Corvetteblogger.com site to read a good synopsis of what happened because it actually started here on CF first. Basically, it appears to be from a C7 users guide. It matches the Jalopnik image almost exactly...except for the tires/wheels.

Need to shrink the GS image down to the same size as the others to get a better comparison on model to model. If the Jalopnik rendering is accurate, then the C7 is nothing more than a mild redesign of the C6 where edges were sharpened and made more angular instead of flowing following the Cadillac / Camaro theme of late. It appears they stretched the roof line, moved the front wheels forward, exaggerated (lengthened) the body lines of the C6 and squared up the front and rear areas. Granted they may be much more to the car when it is released, but from the side profile you can see the origins of the C6 in the car.

As normal you miss the point, try looking at it without your C7 vette worship glasses and see if you can see what I am talking about. I guess the Corvette is made by a different company than the Camaro or Cadillac and there could not possible be any family resemblance....
