When can we order and when delivered?
My question has two parts.
1. When will Chevrolet accept orders and when will dealers have the information or forms including options
2. Realistically when do you think cars will be shipped?
My opinion is April for item 1
IMO I think around the 15 of July for number 2...

Item 1: Mid May
Item 2: Early August. First deliveries mid August.
Production in Bowling Green for real, customer "saleable" cars will typically start mid July. There is also, typically a 2 to 3 week "quality hold", where these cars are quarantined and not released until GM Customer Quality is satisfied that all early production problems have been identified and resolved.

latest info (rumors) say the assembly line will start rolling-off production orders in August. Look for the first deliveries in September.
I took delivery of my 2002... in late July of 2001

I guess I did not define this post well enough. I was looking for a guess. You know just like what horsepower will they advertise. Simply a guess. Obviously it will happen when it happens...I promise I will do better next time.

Orders will start going in sometime in late May. Production will commence in Mid to late July. You wont see any cars shipping before September 1st my guess. Once the line is ready they are going to have to make a bunch of factory pilot cars then they go to the engineers for a 30 day shake down. Once everyone is happy with paint quality build quality yadda yadda yadda they will give the green light to the suppliers to start producing production parts and start shipping them to the plant. Now if they find issues and parts that need tweaking it could delay production like it did in the case of C5. C5 had a 7 month production delay because of part's quality problems from outside vendor's and general build issues that needed to be worked out. So when a new model comes out its dicey to pin point exact production roll out dates.

There is no way a number of C7s will not be at the August 23-25/2013 Corvettes at Carlisle Show, both at the GM Tent and displayed at a CF Dealer Vendor Tent as well. Expect to see every color available not on constraint. Typically no new Corvette will be sold during the show by the Dealer Vendor. But you can crawl all over them inside and out.

The C5 production had the first 395 cars built were test cars. The first C5 released to a dealer was #396 a white coupe shipped to Fairway Chevrolet in Hazleton Pa.
The whole plant was retooled to build the C7 so look for delays in production. GM will not ship cars to the dealers unless they are 100%.
In 1997 dealers could not deliver the cars until March 7th that was the offical day. Look for the C7 to have the samething. Dealers will get the cars and have to hold them to the unvailing date.
