WTF were their designers thinking.. since the 2nd generation Vettes, they have had either round or oval tail lights that were the same size.. NOW they move to what ever that is, where the outer tail lights are larger than the inter ones. I guess that they felt that tradition just wasn't there any more.

Please adjust your admittance, thanks!
WOW! crazy reaction from alot of purists after reading this thread. Future vette owners like myself are salivating over a chance to own one of these. Ill admit it does have a foreign influence, but this is the vette of the future. Purists hated the c6 lights at first i remember. me personally this is the best ride ive ever seen! to the others not so enthusiastic give it time itll grow on you

I winder if the GPS is a POS like the C6 one is or if they finally partnered with someone (e.g. Garmin, TomTom, etc) that actually knows how to design a decent GPS.

On the whole, I think GM did a great job!
GM needed to accomplish several things on the C7:
1. Appeal to a much broader audience than current Corvette owners. The current Corvette demographic has gotten much too old on average. They need to grow their appeal to include a younger, hipper, sexier and (yes) international following.
2. They needed to also "evolve" the Corvette to the next generation without alienating the current owner base, by retaining many of the classic Corvette lines. I think the C7 did just the right amount of both evolving the model, but just edgy enough to appeal to a broader base.
3. They needed to use every new technological advance they can to compete in the "super car" category, including track performance. I think they did a tremendous job in this category.
4. They needed to make the car much more refined, which I also think they did a great job with.
Most importantly, they need to get production #s back up from the current level of 12,000 units per year to the 35,000 units that were produced in the mid 90's. This will enable GM to achieve economies of scale, and thus be more price competitive.
I love my C6 Z06, but this is a great step forward for GM!

i think its one of those cars where it will grow on you the more you see it in person....the tailights should have been kept circular imho to keep the old school look but some may disagree(it looks good from the rear..just wouldnt expect it to be a corvette)...overall it should be bad *** once it hits the roads! just make sure to get one of each gen and everyone will be happy ! Good job GM!

Looks like a ferrari, gtr, camaro and vette got together and had group sex, doesn't look very unique to me, hope i like it better in person, looking forward to the transformer version. I am sure there will be plenty of buyers none the less, that being said i will always be loyal to the general, and havent always liked their vette designs, 81 body style works for me, body style like nothing else, 285k on my dd. Hope they sell a ton for none the less.
