Default Could this be the reason for the Tail Light shape?

This probly sounds crazy but could the reason for the shape of the tail lights be to look like the wing tips of a Stingray?

They were also on the Transformers Stingray Vette...

Probably a case of a form massaged a little to follow function, but I wouldn't be surprised if you were correct. Designers sometimes draw inspiration from the strangest places.

A wing..or maybe even an "angry" stingray's eye showing up in the lighted portion of a taillight

A StingRay has "Wing tips"?

Before the grammar police show up, it's "Wing Tips" not the shoe style "Wingtips"

I knew it. Darwin designed Camaro shaped tailights on Stingray fish since creation...

It's entirely possible. I'm hoping those are air extraction vents that serve a function, it definitely seems like they attempted to style them similar to the Centennial Concept.

And those sting ray eyes are obviously oval C5 tail lights

John, I think it was you who pointed out those eyes sometime back.

While we are on the topic, the center of the steering wheel also in the shape of a stingray...just saying.

While I am not sure and would say anything is possible, one thing is for sure... That picture above has to be the cutest sting ray ever!

That is a very interesting observation! I'm an ocean and saltwater aquarium fanatic and never noticed that. After you pointed it out, I can certainly see why you would say that. Could something "fishy" be going on with these styling cues?? One can only wonder!
