Mark up over MSRP estimates?
Thinking about putting a deposit down to get in the first wave of C7's when they arrive late summer.
I had the first C6 Corvette in Phoenix. Purchased it out of state and had it courtesy delivered at a local Chevy dealer. Got a pretty good deal on it...I was pleasantly surprised!
I am not looking for a fully loaded unit. Nice wheels, HUD, silver or white...that is all I really care about.
What do you all think mark up will be over MSRP on the first wave of base C7's?
Thanks!

Dealers will ask for the moon. They don't expect to get it, but if they don't ask, they're leaving money on the table if That One Guy walks in with more money than sense.

The only problem with this dealer (and I do admire him for doing this!) is that I will be forced to take whatever is in stock when my number comes up. In other words, it may be a fully loaded unit in the wrong color.
I realize it sucks that there will be mark-ups, but it is 'supply and demand.' I believe there are going to be a boat load of people willing to pay over MSRP for the first 6 to 12 months. I am trying to get everyone's opinion on what you think this mark up will be once the units start hitting the showroom floors????

It will vary dealer to dealer but 10-20K should be the norm with dealers who practice this. Ive got a deposit for guaranteed MSRP on my local dealers #1 allocation

a couple of forum dealers that were taking deposits guaranteed no markups so i guess that means MSRP. the dealer that i bought my '12 coupe from were i am also on the list guaranteed me 500 off MSRP or better and he is a very small corvette dealer. So if my small dealer can give me a deal they are out there. BTW i get to order the car not whats in stock, or whatever i choose.

not sure probably somewhere in line with that 10-20 for maybe the first few. I know when the first Z06 came out a local dealer was around 25K on it. Ive seen 40-50K on some cars... i mean not that they get that but some start high and then make it seem like a favor they are doing you to end up at 5K over.
I got my C6 back in October of 2004 for around $1K off
my deal for MSRP wont be too bad has we have some GM card points to use toward it aswell.. I think the max with the vette is 3K (maybe its less) so that helps
also I havent been on here in a while..who can i contact to change my name to M_C7 so that i can be up to date?

I have been saving for a while to buy a C6 but now that the C7 will be out, I won't be able to buy one until the price normalizes. I hoped to but one in Summer 2014. Any chance I will find one at decent price. I'm in Florida.

Here in the DC Area there is a dealer that always marks up like crazy. They always mark them up new "hot cars" for 15-25K over MSRP, IIRC they did the ZR1s for $100k over? For that reason alone I have never purchased a car from them!
