They came so close to making this car a winner, and common sense would tell you that Vette lovers don't want a Camaro lookalike, how could GM be so stupid? The Corvette rear end is unique to a Vette, not a copy of more generic Camaro. Unbelievable, how they could get it so wrong, such a disappointment.
Only thing that is stupid are people saying this looks like the Camaro. I don't mean that to be a personal attack as everybody is entitled to their opinion and we all see things through different eyes. It's just that in my eyes, the Camaro lights are a completely different shape and different illumination. The rear end is also completely different!

I'm a "Vette Lover" and a new generation Camaro hater and I just don't see the Camaro resemblance. They look completely different to me and I for one really like what I see.

I am very dissapointed. The front I can live with but I think they could have done a little more with it. It looks like they took my C6 front and stretched it out in a photoshop computer program. The back makes me want to vomit - it looks cheap and boxy and just not like a corvette. I honestly can't believe management signed off to build that car and produce it. Maybe I will change my mind in person, but I am very very dissapointed. I was really looking forward to an awesome new vette.

I think it'll look better in other colors.

Resembles the Camaro, but the more I look both the more they look different. The '90-96 had square tail lights, so not like this is the first time the car has never had round ones.

[QUOTE=nvusgt;1582817894]

Looks like they need to refine the black area looks unfinished, can we see it with the lower rear valance painted the same as the body ?
Realy looks like the car was rear ended and lost the full bumper

IMO they chose the wrong color to unveal the car. The red doesn't show the body lines well enough. They should have chosen a diffrent color that can show the car lines well.

I dunno.... To me from the rear it could be the next model Camaro. At least more than the next model Corvette.

Cross between Ferrari and Camaro...not convinced either way yet, too early but I do dislike the rear thus far.

Have to see in person.

I really am disappointed in the rear of the car in almost all aspects. The taillights, the 4 tailpipes lined up together (if you are going to do that design, go with 2 bigger exhaust finishers, a la Borla Stingers - Akrapovic, are you listening ?! You'll sell a ton of after markets with that set-up in 2 CF finished cans).

Also, anyone notice the high seem between the rocker and the rear quarter panel? it's like halfway up the door!

And i don't like the seam for the hatch opening being on the curve for the rear quarter window. I fear misalignment may occur there over time, making it look like poor fit / finish.

I see a lot of Ferrari 599-inspired visual in the body.

I think GM will do fine with the car, it really will. But I'm not sold on it at this time.

Maybe the rear-end is not so much Camaro like anymore - maybe that taillight appearance will be a new signature look for all Chevy vehicles.

Anyone who says the C7 tails are the same as the Camaro needs to get their eyes checked.

1. C7 tails are angular not square
2. They are outlined in LED's
3. The inner light is nearly half the size of the outer light

How any of this equates to the same lights as a Camaro is beyond me. Just because the diffuser portion is high if not higher, along the a more squared off look, doesn't mean they're the same. Similar, but not the same. There's a difference.

Moving on from the old is fine, but the emphasis is not just on the move itself, but what the end result is. Change, just for the sake of change, is no guarantee of improvement. For me, as well as it seems many others, the end result is at best, so-so. IMHO, a few steps forward countered by a few steps backward.

Looks like a horrible mess to me.

I think the value of my C6 just went up a few grand. lol

They must have had help from the Camaro design team. Both look horrible and that makes two new performance Chevys I will never buy. YUCK !

Matchbox, HotWheels, "kit car" all have been mentioned and that's regrettable, esp. if Corvette-istas think that about the latest design. I really am trying to get the look and design, and it's just not coming thru to me. That was not the case with the C6, or the C5 I saw at a dealer preview long ago.

If this presentation was for the "gathered few" vs. the masses of people on the web, well, that's unfortunate because there sure as heck were more of us po' folk out there watching, than sitting there able to talk to the Mr. Bigs.

When I first saw the C6 in pic I wasn't on the fence about the car but once I saw it in person it was totally different.

highly dissapointed. Grand slam front end. Strike out on the rear. Who let the Aztek engineers get hold of the rear end? Don't like it. Hopefully it will grow on me. definitely not love at first sight. Overall I think they missed. Too bad for me, I was hoping to trade up to a C6
Z0-6. I don't think prices will be dropping on those any time soon.

Absolutely.

If it was debadged and I came up on it from behind on the road, I would instantly think next gen Camaro. Corvette wouldn't even cross my mind.

Anybody that doesn't see the Camaro resemblance is blind or just in denial.
