I'm going to go out on a limb here and say once released for purchase, the rear end might have paint option. Either paint match or what we see here on the reveal car.

At least that way nearly half the *** isn't black. But I'm probably wrong.

It is really different, I like it. I will might love it in time. I think driving it would help me love it sooner!

Love it! To the guys who hate it. Sucks to be you, running around all grumpy and mad for the next few years, while us others have smiles loving life and the new Corvette! Too bad Dan (op), looks like you will now be trolling the C7 section like you have been the ZR1 section.

I think is looks killer, but doesn't date the wide body C6s like some are saying. Will I buy one? Probably when they build the hi pro version.

More like swing & a home run!!!! This thing is Bad ***! Make all the comparisons you want to the Camaro rear. Fact is this car has evolved & with evolution comes change. Not everyone will like it, but I think it will appeal to most and grow on the rest.

Now if they just come out with a 700 HP version, that will seal the deal!

It's awesome, and of course you are going to have the grouches... never fails. Regardless of what came out on that stage this evening...they would hate it. Period.

And of course a majority of these people will be saying "You know, I really hated the C7 when it first came out...."

Of course there will always be various opinions, but you can put me with the group that HATES the rear. Deal breaker for me.

You guys always whine and moan every time a new gen. comes out. It looks great. I may not be feeling the back end as much as I thought I would, but I am sure it will look great in person and grow on 95% of us.

Default My take on the C7

So here's my take: The new Corvette is awesome, in looks and performance. The exterior is nicely evolved, and the interior is revolutionary, especially the Lambourghini inspired optional track seats. Love the extreme chopped rear end and hood scoop. Side profile is nicely carved. Don't like the black wheels but surely chrome will be available. 450HP, 450 torque, 0-60 in under four, cornering over 1G, all parameters have been incrementaly and necessarily increased to maintain the car's promise of supercar performance at a Chevy price. Resurrection of the Stingray moniker is a nice touch. This car delivers.

When it comes out, I will get one. Wife already knows and understands. I'm over the headlights of the C6, and I'll be over the tail lights of the C7. And if you're on the road with me, just take a good look at the tail lights as you won't see much more.

Racer, the C7 comes with a Z51. Maybe that can be your first C7.

Not any lighter...

Hey, I'll take that. Would not expect less from some on this forum. But...we are not here to discuss the looks of my car. I watched the whole unveiling and came here to give my opinion in the "swing and a miss" thread. Go bitch elsewhere and stop getting butt hurt if someone is critical of a brand new design. The kiddy section is here...http://forums.corvetteforum.com/testing-68/

The back is still iffy to me, but I hope it grows on me because the front is menacing. The back looks very Japanese in design with the very blunt and squarish edges compared to the smooth and sharp front. I think they should have made where the whole black area of the bumper and red meet a more angled swooping line rather than just a flat horizontal line. It looks like it's just missing something.

I do hope the plastic grill, vents and bumper are black instead of the grayish cheap looking plastic used on most GM vehicles. I'm thinking black will look the best because it will look less busy and help blend in the questionable lines of the back end.

For everyone that loves the car, this is just my opinion. I'm not a hater, just a fan of Corvettes and sports cars giving my opinion.
