Default C7 z06, zr1

Has GM officially stated that there will be a Z06 and a ZR1 or either in the C7 line up, or is just wishful thinking and hoping at this point. Could they have a new high performance model in the works and will unveil it in 2015 or 2016?

I'll likely be getting the next "ZR1" rendered C7. Until then, my c6 is my street fighter.

Here is the official word:

Will the 2014 Corvette be offered in a convertible or high-performance variant?

No information is being released regarding future Corvette products but we are always looking to increase performance.

Wishful thinking at this point in time. GM did say in a confidential sales brochure to their dealers on the 2013 Corvette, that there would be no GS, Z06, 427 Convertible or ZR1 for the C7 in the near future. They did not say there would never be those models in the future.

i hope they do because if the numbers are somewhat accurate. 450hp,3350lbs is slow!! i wouldn't want to downgrade performance wise when i already own a C6 Z06

GM will probably wait a year on the Z06 / ZR1 (which ever or both?) to allow the basic sales on the C7 Corvette to give it a chance on the market.

There was a posted thread with a pic of 2 white modified C7's under a GM building, they looked insane! Hope that's the direction the Z06 / ZR1 go!

Corvette needs to compete with the world's best and will need those variants for bragging rights. The will undoubtably make a Halo variant.

I think I recall an engine bay pic/render which showed the base and a supercharged engine. So my guess is that it is in the works and hopefully in MY 2015.

Would love to see a factory S/C Vette priced around today's Z06 price which has 550-600 HP. Then a twin turbo ZR1 for the boo-cu bucks!

IIRC Tadge stated in an interview that there were 'hypercars' in their sights. The base model is not that competitor.

The best is yet to come, Absolutely Guaranteed .

If only GM would release enough plans that the average consumer could decide which model they want up front. The average Corvette shopper cannot afford to buy one every/every other year.

Too bad they didn't just make this new motor a 7.0. Then we wouldn't need a Z06.
