Default What happened to the Aisin 8 speed auto?

I read an article a while ago that said that the first year of the C7 would get an Aisin 8 speed auto so I was surprised to see the 6 speed auto still there. Anyone know any details?

The article was written by the same people that speculated on a 5.5L base engine?

Only thing I've heard in reference to any auto tranny stuff, is that the LT1 was making so much torque under 4000rpm that the tranny developers were having issues getting it in order.

Default Not enough production capacity

I think I read that they can not produce enough for the first round of Corvettes. Will be available in future release. I believe GM wants to roll it out in the trucks first, where it is needed the most. I think they are working on their own too but it still has issues, their back up plan is the Aisin.
