Default [Video] 7:31 My Nurburgring Lap Time with Corvette C7

Here is a lap at the Nurburgring as I did earlier today with the all new Corvette C7 in Gran Turismo 5, check it out!

Do you think it can make the same lap time in real life?

You should have switched the drive mode to "Track". The dash shows that you're in "Sport" mode.

Kidding of course. Nice lap!

The speedometer flashed 187 mph, which is exacly 300 km/h, very good for a 450 hp car at Döttinger Höhe I think.

Nice run. You currently hold the forum record that I am aware of. The previous was 7:35. I'm in at a lowly 7:50.

It was actually a 7:34.783.

I found it because we talk about it a lot here.

Yes, I have been trying it out on the Nurburgring 24H track, with soft sport tires and the best I can get out of the C7 in two days was 9:24:659, while the ZR1 stock with sport soft tires will run the track at 9:01:557.

If the real C7 7-speed transmission has the same gear ratio's as in GT5 it will be a real dog-cart. 6th gear is running 211 MPH at 5800 rpm put it to 7th gear and the car just keeps losing speed. Maybe good for economy but the C7's gear ratio's are all wacky, when compared to the 7 speed that is in the 458 Italia.

If that is the case in real life then the current 6-speed in the C6 will be faster than the C7's 7-speed.

Just tied the stock ZO6 (C6) on the Nurburgring 24H track with sport soft tires 9:21888 on the first attempt.

I ran with sports hard tyres, which is the "standard tyres", not racing soft. The car was completely stock, only oil change has been made.

The corvette test prototyp is slower than the real car. I uploaded a lap time of the proto as well (six seconds slower):

I think I'll have to fire up my copy of GT5 and download this.

Problem is I haven't played GT5 in over a year so I know it's gonna be downloading and installing updates for 2 hours.

That explains it then. The oil change in the game adds horsepower. To compare stock for stock we have all be running without an oil change with stock hard tires.

7:34 then still stands as the fastest stock Nordschleife time.

Great run, and actually it is faster than that because the official time is recorded where you started BUT stops as soon as you enter T13 again, i would say only 10-20 feet after last right hand.

So do you think an oil change is good for 15hp in real life as it is in the game?
