C7 and other gen question...
Based on this picture...
Can I deduce that the radiator is the primary source of under-hood heat? It appears it is radiator heat that is being drawn out the hood vent and not overall underhood heat. If that is intended to draw away heat, then how effective can it be if the radiator is really not the primary contributor?

The hood extractors more intended to route air coming through the front bumper over the top of the car. They are aiming to make the car much more aero balanced than the C6, just like the Camaro ZL1.

It serves the multiple purposes of expelling radiator heated air, preventing that same air from being forced to go under the car AND disrupting the airflow over the hood thereby reducing lift created by the smooth surface hood's wing effect at high speed. If you dont think aero considerations are that important, stick your arm out the window while going 150 mph+
