C7 faster than Z06 ?
Hi guys ,i am just hoping that the new c7 will be as quick as the z06 as from what i have seen they are not as quick as some of you think. Hope to give you some views from the other side of the pond to how the Corvette is seen.

I'm guessing it'll be about half-way between the 2013 GS and 2013 Z06.
I know GM quotes 3.95 for the GS 0-60.
Does anyone know GM's 1/4 mile for the GS and both 0-60 and 1/4 mile for the Z06 (with Michelins)?

I remember that review was the harshest I've seen. I generally like Chris Harris but I don't felt like he did the car justice there.
FWIW, look at the Top Gear and Fifth Gear reviews for the Z06. Not the best reviews but fairly reasonable and accurate.
And yes, the Z06 is as fast as we think :P.

Agree bad shifting. But the times to 60 and 100 are well down, i was surprised as really this car should stay with the GT2.
With those figures i would think the C7 will be quicker.

I don't believe the Z51 C7 will be faster then the C6 Z06, not according to what Iread here the other day, is the mules at VIR were turning competitive tiomes to the Z06. Not just what do they mean competitive times is anybodies guess. But I don't see the new C7 running with the Z06.

You handpicked possibly the worst review there is. No doubt in this test the GT2 was faster. A car driven poorly will perform poorly, it is what it is.
But I can handpick the best review which shows it faster than this GT2's times and other cars of this caliber.
If you really want know what people think about the C7 and C6 Z06, just look at the thousands of other posts rehashing the same topic over and over and over and over and over again.

That guy was clearly biased against the car from the start. He couldn't even shift without grinding the gears, admitted he was short shifting and was slow as hell when he did get it right. And once again he had to make the obligatory negative comment about leaf springs. What makes coil springs any more advanced than composite leaf springs? Coils have been around about a century before leafs were invented. In my eyes, he lost ALL credibility and I think he's just an idiot.

It depends !!!We will not know for a while what the exact horsepower and weight will be on the C7 Z51 option.
The comments on the C7 lap times being "competitive" with a Z06 doesn't say a lot. Driver's ability and the Z06 options aren't known.
The C7 will surely be faster than the base C6 but regarding the Z06...
we just don't know.

FWIW...GM has trade marked "L88"...So the C7Z51 folks can enjoy beating up the old base C6 and maybe 427 Vert...But the C7Z07 Beast is in the pipline....

How are they 'a little out' when there are dozens of other reviews that show a much more competitive time? This review is the outliar, not everyone elses.

I know the GM engineers targeted the ZO6's performance with the C7 just like they targeted the C6 against the C5 ZO6's preformance when they brought the LS2's out. Argueably they were awlfully close. I think the Z51 C7 will be close to the C6 ZO6, but, not faster. I suspect it'll handle as well or better though.
