Another C7 Poll For 35-50 Year olds
#42
38 yrs... it will be sitting next to the 66 :-)
I'm in love.... I plan on buying 6 months or so after its released. I was seriously sold on a C6 Z06 and almost pulled the trigger a few months back but decided to wait and see what the C7 would bring, and I am happy I waited. I still love the C6 Z06, but I cant resist the C7. All I can say is wow...

48; It will be my next car purchase. Might be 2-3 years though. The tail lights don't have to be round but the butt end is too busy and the black wheels look like brake dust to me.

44 and I can't wait to get a C7
I love the new C7, can't wait to be among the first in the country to get one. My twin turbo C6 triple black roadster with caravaggio interior is for sale in the c6 section, and it's one damn nice C6. But I gotta have the C7

I'm curious to know if the C7 appeals to Sports car buyers in the 35-50year old bracket any more or less that the previous models. Please only 35-50 year olds respond. Thanks, Tony
PS: more than half of the late model Corvettes sold were bought by women. Some of our photos my be offensive to them. Just saying.

39 here..... No desire to sell my C6Z for the new car. That being said I felt the same way in 2005 when the C6 was released... It did not make me want to trade up from my C5Z, then the C6Z was released and I was checking under my seat cushions for loose change and selling blood to come up with the funds to get one.
Congrats to those who will soon be driving the C7. I hope it has a successful run.... I am afraid that once the "gotta have it" crowd gets theirs, demand will quickly die and we might be back to 12-15000 cars per year and I don't know if a C8 will be green lighted with those type of production numbers continuing.

I'm in my very late 30's (44) and I love the C7. The only thing I don't like (No, it's not the taillights) is the paddle shifters for the rev matching. It seems unnecessarily complex when a button would do...

Hey folks here is some info for you: Planned obsolescence or built-in obsolescence[1] in industrial design is a policy of planning or designing a product with a limited useful life, so it will become obsolete, that is, unfashionable or no longer functional after a certain period of time. Yes - people, better believe that C7 is also of that mold. I really like my C6, I really like the C1 and C2 and even a couple of early C3's - but do I have to have another one? No, not really. I'm 36 - bought my first vette at 32 brand new 2008 C8 - still really enjoy the car.

You're just jealous. I like his avatar much better than your avatar, and I like either of them much better than the C7 rear. 49 and on my 4th Vette since I got into them in Y2K. The childish rear end really annoys me on this car. Not saying I won't get one, but I'm in no rush on account of the Mattel posterior and something may come along that strikes my fancy better in the meantime. Lots of choices out there and I have the means to be selective.
Surprisingly, my wife LOVES the C7, rear end and all. This is a BMW devotee who normally does not know one car from another. She actually did a double-take as she walked by the computer screen, and came back to look at it. I've never seen her do that before. Good news for me as she's been asking for an Aston Martin Vantage...

I'm soon to be 37, and have owned 2001 Coupe, 2007 Coupe, and a 2008 Coupe. I love the C7 styling, and can not wait to drive one. Luckily I will get to take one on a track when Chevy sends me to C7 training! I will own one at some point, hopefully sooner than later.

Overall, it is appealing to me and I'm 38. Will I buy one new? Most likely not. It will, I'm sure, grow on me like the C5 did. Obviously hard to make a fair judgement without seeing and driving one in person.
My critique (based on photos):
1. The new C7 v-flags are unappealing, their sillouette look more like the firebird emblem. However the stingray badge is bad-***!
2. The rear end and tail lights too closely resemble the new camaro. I argue that at first glance, I would dismiss it as just another SS. The distinctive taillights seem to be gone. The rear of the vettes should always look the best, as that's the view most people have to experience
3. I am interested to experience the interior, that has been the biggest critique of the vette for a long time. But personally, if a luxurious interior was one of my top criteria in a sports car, I wouldn't be looking at a vette anyway.
4. Exterior styling (minus the butt) seems to combine the C6 with queues resembling a European super car. I like it. The rear hurts it though; kinda like a new camaro rear-ended and morphed with a Ferrari or something.
Having said all that, my first impression of the "new" C5 when launched was not at all positive, I hated it. However, after seeing them in person, then seeing the Z06, the C5 grew on me and is still my favorite style (behind the C2) mainly due to the curves. I'm sure I'll see this post again in a few years and digitally "eat my own words".
