Automobile Magazine March 2013

If you read this magazine regularly you know that Cumberford is highly critical and has no problems bashing a design. That fact that he actually approves of the design is saying something IMO.

I find it interesting that they did not say "estimated" for the horsepower and they were even specific about the RPM's that the hp and torque are rated at. Maybe I have missed it, but I don't recall seeing that before.

From Oct. 2012 Car and Driver:
Final Output Numbers Due Later
Since the new Corvette doesn’t hit the streets for another year, GM is cagey about final Gen V performance figures. The tentative details are more than 450 hp at 6000 rpm and more than 450 lb-ft of torque at 4000 rpm, with a 6600-rpm fuel cutoff. According to veteran small-block engineer Sam Winegarden, the torque available below 4000 rpm is comparable to today’s 7.0-liter LS7 Corvette Z06 engine.

If you look on page 39 they do include the estimated disclaimer when presented in table form.

I was a long time subscriber to Automobile starting back in the mid 80's but when they took a left turn and could only praise and enjoy imports I stopped my subscription and reading it all together.
The fact they are now saying positive things about the C7 speaks volumes of how impressive the C7 must be.

Who in the hell would notice a 14.2" diameter steering wheel vs a 14.6" diameter steering wheel, without being told?
