C7's Affect on C6 Prices?
I could have sworn I saw a thread like this, but I couldn't find it. What affect do you guys feel the C7 will have on C6 pricing around the second year of the C7's production run? Will we see C6 pricing decrease at an accelerated rate once the C7 gets rolling?

With any luck! I would love to pick up a new 13 Z06 for low 60's to hold me over for the C7 Z06......I know I know, may not be called Z06.

It will likely push the price up after dipping quite a bit (which it seems to be doing now).
What happens is a few things:
1. Limited allocation/availability will cause some buyers to go with a c6 instead of waiting on a c7
2. No rebates or discounts on C7 for awhile, I bet we even see dealer markup during the initial launch like any other high performance GM car
I could be wrong, who knows. Only time will tell for sure

I think what is affecting them more is the dealers that are trying to push out the '13s at rock bottom prices.

This was kind of touched-on in another thread about tuners lamenting the LT1's locked PCM. This car's target market is "mod"-crazy. If the aftermarket can't crack the PCM security key, potential buyers may begin to look for alternatives that can still be modded, causing residuals to drop faster than would normally be the case...and bolstering used C6 prices.
A slight stretch? Maybe, but stranger things have happened...

C6 price will increase its run has ended there won't be anymore chaps will wreck them and make them rare. And it's a collector item and its has round rear lights

I would expect the C7 to have a negative impact on C6 prices since it's likely that dealers will be flooded with C6s that were traded in for C7s. It should be a good time for buyers to pick up a great deal on a fine sports car.

C6's are toast, like owning a Ford Focus.

The price of a new 2013 might be reduced quite a bit BUT don't expect to get even Blue Book on your C6 trade. I already discovered this, the dealer offered $3,000 below blue book on a new leftover 2012.

As a general rule, whenever a new generation of a popular car is introduced it exerts downward pressure on the prices of the previous generation. Why is this question even being asked? It happens all the time.

? whether its the C7 or the fact that the economy was so bad they couldn't sell the
Corvettes. But there are quite a few new 2012 still just sitting on lots. A friend was
looking at one, told him to just wait they are going to have to fire sale those pretty
quick with the C7 coming. He found a 2012 GS that was 20K off, again told him
to just wait, gonna get even better.
