I hope you can just download google maps or yahoo maps or what ever system you like. If not may just get velcro tape and velcrow my phone over the nav screen.

You are so right, GM is about 10 years behind a good Nav system. I don't use it in either of my GM cars, butt my daughters Lexus Nav system is incredible!

GM, or the C6?

Out of curiosity what makes the Lexus Nav system incredible? The one in the Lexus we've used wasn't any better than most other newer cars, but that car is about 3-4 years old now, so it may not be the most recent update.

We know that is is the next generation of Mylink. I've used the current generation and it is very good, although the interface is different between cars. It includes Traffic and Weather if you choose to pay XM for it (separately or with a radio subscription)

Here is what is going in the Sierra:

Posted by talon90 Yes, there are substantial changes. It is a whole new system, from a different supplier incorporating a great deal of new technology. Elements of it will be much easier but I predict that elements of it will have their own learning curve. It has a lot of information available.

Last I heard, Toyota and Lexus use the same nav systems. If that is still true-
We've got one of their 2011 navs in my wife's car, and I think they finally caught up to the C6 factory nav. The older 2005 nav in our third car is not as good as our C6.
