Default Just got back from Geneva auto show - C7 pics attached

So I went to the Geneva auto show on Friday and got to see the C7 in person. Pictures do not do it Justice. It is bad *** looking in person. Seeing it in person has now solidified my decision to get one versus getting a used C6 ZO6. I know some, well actually a lot, of people have complained about the rear end and it not having round lights. I think it would have looked out of place with round lights due to the angular lines of the rear.

I have to say the vert does not look nearly as aggressive as the coupe. The vert wheels are plain and boring looking. I personally prefer the split spoke from the coupe Z51 package.

By the way, Alisha, the woman who does the C7 presentations throughout the show said that HP is going to be 470-475. I take that with a grain of salt, however, she did seem very knowledgeable about the vehicle and did not come across as just another pretty face.

Attached are some pics of the coupe and the vert, which are nothing that we haven't seen in other posts. They were taken with my iPhone so sorry about the quality. I hope you enjoy.

Some pics of the vert

One last thing, I noticed on the door panel towards the rear is a vent/grill. Not sure what that is. Maybe a tweeter for the audio system?

Can't really tell, but could that be a manual door release in case of electronic failure? Looks good, but I would definitely black out or remove the chrome piece on the front facia. Going with an edgy design to attract younger buyers this is out of place IMHO.

It would seem to me the manual door release would be better positioned as it is in the C6. Not sure what that is.

I do agree with you the chrome piece on the front would look better blacked out.

Nice pics, thanks! I just wonder: does anyone own a camera any longer or is it all phone-cams?

I still carry my Canaon Powershot ELPH to car shows. It's about the size of a pack of cigarettes and takes better pics than my phone.

I wonder if the convertible wheels are prototype test wheels. The centre caps have a C6 emblem.

I've seen it in person also when the CG one was in LA. For the life of me, as everyone who has seen it in person says it looks way way better in person, which it does. The question is WHY?? Does anyone have a guess?

I have an answer, maybe not the answer for you. As to why the car looks better in person, it is very difficult to show some of the recesses, angles and subtle lines in a two-dimensional picture. One of the posters on here took fotos with his camera outdoors in sunlight. Not "staged" with sunshades and just right amount of lumens----just your ordinary, intrepid Corvette nut with a camera. From that one shot, I could see some of the angles on/at the rear end that none of the other shots had shown quite as well, if at all.

Long way of saying, seeing it in person is the best way to catch all the subtle and not-so-subtle angels and curves.

woops! not "angels and curves" angles and curves. *big smile*

Great pictures, Thanks for posting. The more I see this car the more I like it. I will have to wait until Aprils bash at the Corvette Museum to see it in person.

When exactly is the Bash? I don't know why, but the 16th sticks out in my head for some reason.

Awesome insights and photos!

The door speaker is part of the active noise control as my best guess....

I dig the red z51 coupe ...wow!

Thanks for posting up. Good to hear you liked what you saw..

Maybe this is where the Engine Sound Management system ports the exhaust sound?

I noticed the same thing at the Chicago Auto Show and I asked the Corvette product specialist (the female model) and she said it was a microphone for a cell-phone, OnStar, Nav, etc....
