Default Are we that desperate for a c7?

went to tomball parkway yesterday to price a new c6 Grand sport and the female sales manager told me they are going to sell the new corvette c7 for 100,000.00 with orders taken allready are we that desperate for the new vette that we would let someone charge us 30 to 40 thousand over what the car is worth just to say I have a new c7 ,that means for every new c7 they sell someone got what a new truck cost fully loaded. And she was so smug about it all I can say is wow.

Regrettably yet anther example of why folks with any car sense at all find it so maddeningly patience testing to do business with local dealerships. And at the time it is somewhat of a reminder of how little the average car buyer knows and how easily the dealer can therefor manipulate them.

I can't see how someone smart enough to afford $100K for a C7 would be dumb enough to pay $100K for a C7...

They are that desperate to sell year old c6's that wont move even with a 20% discount. Make people think that the c7 will be unatainable so they settle for day old donuts (which is still a decent donut at 20% off).

Yup, they are in high demand, especially since the C6 is now obsolete

Must be it's all those young kids that finally like the Corvette. Guess they put down the PS3 controller, broke their piggybanks and started snapping up C7s at $30K over sticker.

Well Done GM!

If someone pays $100k for a C7 without it being something like a ZR1 they are a fool. Would I like a C7 - sure, but not at anything over MSRP if even that. I can wait.

Yeah, right. They can price a C7 at $100,000, but I bet they won't sell one at that price.

WOW is right. I would of told her that I'll wait 6 months after you have a bunch on your lot unsold, then I'll offer you $50K.
What kind of pricing was she giving you on a GS?

I don't respect dealerships who mark the product above msrp and would never do business with them. Shows bad character in my opinion.

Find a forum vendor at msrp.

Great car

If some fool pays that they deserve to ripped off...this is the reason the government required a MSRP window sticker. At least they know they are being screwed.

I refuse to pay over sticker. Hell, refuse to pay sticker! I'd end up telling them about themselves if they try and tell me they want 100k for a base C7. They can keep it. I'll be calling Kerbeck when the time comes. Hopefully they can do better than my local dealer over here.

They're just saying that now in an attempt to avoid having to cut their wrists on C6 pricing. Tell her that if they value their C7s that highly, maybe they should just keep them...
