As to the shower curtain comment, that is rediculous. The cargo cover is a stretchable black fabric that is pulled saunt when installed. A light weight solution. If you don't like it being plain there are similar after market solutions with various logos.

With my '05 c6 Coupe, yes that front flap flapping around was real annoying with the windows down and roof removed. My "high tech" solution was to open the lower front seam of the flap and insert a full length 1/4" round plastic dowel within, then sew the ends closed. Its weight was just enough to eliminate the flapping. Cheap too, the mod cost bout $2.00. If the C7 cargo cover is now two piece as suggested above, they may have addressed that issue.

Would not want a hard cover! My 3LT black cover and front partician work fine. When I use my C7 DD for a pick-up truck to haul an 18x18x16 inch box (which I do often) it pokes the cover up! Have to be sure to have it full forward so iI don't pop the glass out!
