C7 Stingray at Indy 500
Anyone read anything about any of the C7 Stingrays being involved in the Indy 500 race event this year?
I know they recently introduced the Special Hotwheels Camaro for some of the Indy 500 Festival cars. But have not seen anything about the pace car yet, unless they use the same 60th Anniv. ZR1 from last year.
It would be cool if they did paint up a special C7 to be involved in the race weekend.
A crude P'shop pace car below ...

As for the OP's question. No, the C7 will not pace the 500, as it is not in production yet. Now I could see it as the official pace car for the 2015 race, but not this year.

I am not sure that is a correct statement. two different kinds of race fans. The ones like Bill and I and I am sure there are more, happen to enjoy certain venues, but I don't watch all kinds of races. For instance, I will not waste my time with NASCAR, Dirt track, Rally or Motocross. I watch F1, ALMS, and when I can FIAGT, WEC, DTM and V8Supercars. I will on occasion watch Grand Am, and Indy Car but not all the time.

Good point..
I made my living from Motorsports. I was involved from jet ski racing to NASCAR. Over the years I have watched as Indy Car shot itself right in foot. Because of politics and crazy rules they have been dropping off the scene quicker then the rest..

Tighten things down so the races are competitive. Results so close nobody can pass on the track. It is all done in the pits.
The classes that were originally supposed to be based on street cars are barely look-a-likes.

No doubt they have done that. I will point out that a lot of the leagues have done that. Even F1.

I thought they renamed it the Danica 500 a few years ago.

No question that the 500 is not as important as it once was. However, it is an exciting SOB when those cars go past the starting line for the first time. I've been to Daytona for NASCAR and it's great but it can't touch the atmosphere at the Indy 500.

Yep, the Indy 500 is a special event.
