The market always dictates the price on anything. If folks are willing to pay a premium a dealer is stupid not to take that money.
No one mentioned the cost of waiting another year or two if you have a newer trade. That trade is depreciating year after year. In my case I can qualify for a supplier discount which say is worth $5K. But if I wait a year my trade could be worth $5K less. Seems like a wash.
Biggest problem I see buying from a large far away Forum dealer with a 14..... If your local dealer is not trained to service it........what do you do?

Anyone who does is a complete idiot. This is still a 55-65k car. There will not be a two-year waiting list like an Aventador or something. The car is definitely in demand--trust me, I can't wait till I get mine-- but there is no way in hell I'm paying above sticker, much less 15k above sticker.

Then can't he also go to another dealer who is trained, if he purchases a C7 from a far away forum dealer.
just trying to keep apples to apples as he said "Biggest problem I see buying from a large far away Forum dealer with a 14..... If your local dealer is not trained to service it........what do you do?"

I see the C7 being just like the C5 when it came out. The demand will be great. Most dealers will sell it at list or a small discount for the first two years. GM will than introduce the ZO6 or what ever they call the high performance model. That car will be at list also. Then a ZR-1 type model and list again.
Remember each selling C7 dealer has about $20K invested in tools and training before they get their first car.
Those thinking this car is going to slow down in sales after the first six months are dreaming. There are thousands of Corvette owners and buyers who aren't Forum members.
I am friends with several Chevy dealers owners and all have told me they are sold out of their first 6 month allocations.

My local dealer is only getting 1 and said if lucky in December. I checked a dealer two hours away, they are getting 9 and all are spoken for $15k over MSRP. I decided to get the Grand Sport 3lt and saved $12k. I am not paying over MSRP so I'll wait a few years
