Default C7 Corvette MPG claims

Hello everyone, I'm Bill Roberson, Automotive Editor at Digital Trends in Portland, Oregon. Like you, we are eagerly waiting to drive the new C7. While it's going to be a powerful car, it's also going to be good on gas (as long as you drive it with a modicum of restraint). So how'd Chevy get the C7 to get a claimed 30mpg hwy? And why? We talked to GM engineers for the inside story. Read our article here:

http://www.digitaltrends.com/cars/46...he-impossible/

Watch for more C7 coverage and a test drive in the near future. Thanks for reading and we welcome your comments.

All above true; C6's consistently got more, than rated on long distance trips. They were rated much less than the C7.

Imagine what folks will get with a C7.

Might want to fix the typo:
I think it’s safe to assume nobody wants to drive around in a sterilized Stingray so is there a noticeable drop off in power when in eco mode and AMF is engaged, will drivers be able feel the difference?

Exactly. Direct injection should pay major dividends in low-load conditions. Highway cruising should be very, very efficient on this car... Especially if you're in eco mode and have half your cylinders shut off.
