It might have been. I didn't investigate. 37K miles is the most I have seen.

What's funny is that towards the end of the production, people were dumping them right and left. Now, we all want one. Weird, eh?

I just checked Ebay and there are 12 for sale....$199k to $299k.

There is one for $119k but it has not one...but two Salvage Titles! Never seen that before!

150 is about the right price for a good one under 10K miles. Above that -- I don't think so.

But, I'm an enthusiast, not a speculator. Ask the speculators why they spend 300 grand on a 246 Dino gt. IMO: Nutty.

My guess is average markup will be $7,500.00. Unless you got your reservation deposit in early and deal with one of the very few dealers who will sell at MSRP.

I remember when the C6 first came out. You couldn't get one for close to MSRP including many of the dealers who belong to this Forum. Everytime I see Kerbeck offering huge savings on C6's the past few years I get a chuckle. I tried to get a Z06 from them when they first came out in 2006...what a joke! I hope they learned something in 2005-2006. Many of us have not forgotten!

Good luck I say!
We have a local dealer, who owns many stores even one in Florida and they have never sold above MSRP. Their big store in Grapevine sells many Corvettes, even when the ZR1 came out they sold at MSRP. So there are some dealers who for the most part are not forum sponsors selling for MSRP. I think one of this dealers stores (Sugerland or there abouts) might be a sponsor.

Wanna find out if your dealer will sell C7's at MSRP??? Go into the owner's parking lot at your dealership and see if they have a new Bassboat parked there. The $$$$ they are going to make on the new C7's is gonna buy everyone a new Bassboat!

No one is a fool if they pay more than MSRP nor are they being shafted. It is a free economy and no one is being forced to buy or sell anything at any price.

Supply and demand and a free economy made America great. We should never forget that.

Build a better mousetrap and the world will beat a path to your door -- carrying $$$$$.

But, I don't blame the dealers. We live in free economy. You can buy from them or you can pass. Eventually, the market will settle.

And, here's my warning to dealers who want to take this mark up/mark down business position:

I tried to get a new Ford GT from my local -- and very large -- Ford dealer. I went in very early and wanted to talk about putting down a deposit.

I was told (very coldly), that the "phone was ringing off the hook" and that if I wasn't prepared to pay at least 50 grand over MSRP, I would not get a car.

I said "thank you very much but I'm not going to do that" and walked out.

I've never considered buying a Ford since.
Since I live in LA, yes that is correct. My dealer who I just bought my 13' from in Feb. told me they are going $7-15k OVER MSRP. That's when I went to a forum vender here for my C7....

I never heard of any of you guys complaining that some forum vendors are currently selling C6's for up to 18% off MSRP
Markets are free, and we are free to buy or pass.

True, however, take a look at those same vendors when the C7's come out. They will not be your best friend anymore! I remember how arrogant and over-confidant salesmen from these exact same dealers were when the C6's came out. MSRP...no freakin' way! Just wait and see my friend! Notice none of them have chimed in this Thread to advise they will be selling at MSRP?

It is really simple....GM can pump out more C7s than any other Vette in the past. If thousands and thousands have to have it and pay well over msrp dealers are going to price them that way. When the frenzy is over prices will come down. The more people can wait the better price we will all get. Their will be no shortage of C7s like a Ferrari or Viper or Lambo which are low build numbers.

If supply is low, other than dealers here on the forum committing to MSRP, the DEALER ****** will charge 5 to 10 k over MSRP for as long as they can rape and pillage... Kudos to the forum dealers here that don't play those games... MSRP is a LARGE profit, to go beyond the fool who pays it deserves what they get, with no lube

Where are all the Forum members who laughed in January and said no one would buy the ugly C7.. Where are these members today? Then the wise sages who said the price would drop like a stone when the cars backed up on dealer lots..
I think they are all at Fantasy Land in Disney World.

My dealer called me today and told me there will not be a markup, but they're not going below MSRP.

Exactly, 100% correct. GM can fart out more new Corvettes than the public will ever purchase.
