LT1 Minimum HP Acceptability Poll
What is the minimum horsepower that is acceptable for you in ordering a C7 base/Z51 Corvette, given the price points you have now seen?

That's kind of a tough one for me. Although I would prefer for the horsepower to be over 470, if the magazine car jockeys run the c7 in the quarter in the 11's and trap at or above 120, I'd accept a lower hp number. I use the magazine's as a reference as they are usually good for coming up with an average for performance versus owners who beat their times. Everyone wants the most hp, but to me the performance matters more if I can't have both in stock form.

It is not necessarily a prediction of what they think it is going to be.

Being I ordered one I have to accept the estimate (450) as a minimum, but am anticipating more. If NPP adds 6 as in the past then you are above the minimum.
Bottom line for those that ordered and all others we will know when they tell us, but GM stated 450 est, hopefully more and no less.

I would predict that the direct fuel injection would increase horsepower by 5% on a two-valve-per-cylinder engine.
So that's 452 HP.
Here are two examples of what's happening elsewhere:
Mustang GT, 5.0 V8, 420 HP
2014 Jaguar F Type, supercharged 5.0 V8, 495 HP
.

They are adding DI and VVT. I would expect more than 5%. I would expect at least 10%. The CTS gets 10% just getting DI.

Funny how a few hp can make all the difference.
450hp= little disappointed
460hp= acceptable
470hp= happy
The base C6 had 20 less hp than the C5 Z06, I expect something similar. My prediction and hope is 470hp+.

Anything north of 450HP. That is the only real number we have and all anyone should be basing a buying decision on today IMO. Anything higher is gravy.
Having said that, I'm "hoping" for 460 to 470 but won't be upset if it doesn't get there because, IMO, it would be silly to be upset if they actually give us what they have already put on paper.

I went with 470 - 479.
Good poll, no bias in the question or the choices. Good job, Ox!

21 people won't buy this car because of 20 HP? Really? 0 -60 under 4 isn't enough for you?
To me HP ratings are overrated. It's overall performance that matters.
If this car had 600 HP and went 0-60 in 7 seconds, I wouldn't buy it for the world.

For those who wouldn't buy it because it lacks 20 extra hp, how many drive the cars to the limit? If you plan to track your car and that extra 20 hp is the difference between winning and losing then this would be a valid consideration. But for day to day and spirited road driving, the extra 50 lb-ft of torque up to 4000 RPM is far more useful than peak hp.
