That's interesting because the C7 Z51 has combined the electronic e-diff with the manual tranny.

I wouldn't bother getting a 2 seat sports car with an automatic.

That's just me.

Yeah, some of the more exotic offerings these days only offer flappy paddle systems.

I won't be considering a C7 until the DCT arrives. If I really wanted one now for sure I would get the manual. That is a nice transmission and is ideally suited to the car.

Parking in tight spots and getting out of garages etc. might be easier with a clutch that can be modulated, that’s true. But parking and getting out of garages is not the main development target on a GT car. When a huge part of our customers still insist on a manual we will not ignore this. But, a manual will be not only slower in acceleration but the car will also be less capable in cornering because we cannot combine the electronic e-diff with a manual, because there’s no hydraulic pump in the manual to feed the e-diff. You da man! It's just not the 60's anymore.

Amazing how GM engineering can make things happen when supposedly other great sports car makers can't.

If they cant GM will sell them the technology. Ferrari as an example buys the electric shocks.

I would advise that you wait for the evaluation of how the two cars execute the technology before passing judgement.

I don't believe GM invented the technology. The first generation was created by the Delphi Corporation.

Unless you're Eddie Murphy or Hugh Grant, there shouldn't be a tranny in the car! Oops wrong thread...
