I have 3 magazines for my .45 in there, the membership badges and codes to my FOP gun range, and my UHF remote radio head unit in there. I find it quite useful!

I thought setting the valet mode locked it?

It's the principle of the thing. Open forum and all that stuff. Heck, you could have gone to the powder room or something and been gone for hours! I'd hate to see a guy hanging like that!
