I used the space to add an Alpine 007 car play touch screen. The bose system just doesn't provide a quality signal suitable for high end audio. so we found a solution. Custom and one of a kind.

What a great movie that was. "A fellow could have a pretty good weekend in Vegas with all that stuff."

eYep...the P938 is a perfect fit. I wonder if Sig consulted on the C7 :-))

Have a concern now about the hiddy hole. I left the car with the top down and windows up and went in the house. I left my key in the house. Later I wanted my sunglasses from the Vette to go to out in my other vehicle. I started to go back in the house to get the key and then wondered if it would holler if I reached in and hit the down button and tried to retrieve my shades. It let me get my shades, the compartment wasn't locked in any way and the car didn't holler that I was reaching in. Hmmmm.

Don't leave the top and windows down and expect your car to be secure.

Concern solved.

That's because when the top is down/off, the intrusion sensor is disabled. There is a work around with a wall anchor for the coupe, but no such work around is yet known for the Vert.

The infotainment cubby is locked only when it is in Valet Mode. The screen can be temporarily disabled if left in R for the manual, but all anyone has to do is move it to another gear, and then the screen can be lowered.

I think the intrusion sensor is motion-based. Even if it weren't disabled with the top down, I don't think reaching in to hit the screen up/down switch would trigger it.

Never use it. Think the screen was only down once or twice, once to test it otherwise I am not into it.

It's very sensitive to any motion inside the cabin. Once it's armed, even the slightest motion inside will trigger it.

You can experiment, by leaving the windows down with the doors locked, and then reach in. Startled the crap out of me the first time I did that.

I guess I'll have to set up the valet mode pass word and use it if I leave the top down anywhere but in my garage!

Enabling and disabling valet mode is a fairly quick process.

I also leave my top down often when running errands. Since I have a M7, I just park it in reverse, which disables the screen, but that obviously doesn't work for an A8.

It matters. The fob must be far enough away such that you can't open the locked door. If you can open the locked door then the fob is too close. Also, the top needs to be on or you have to fix it such that the hole on the driver's side has a switch which disables intrusion detection that you somehow need to keep engaged. Easiest way is to put the top back on. All you need to do is stick your hand inside the opened window and it should go off.

It should also be pointed out the the 1Lt trim level does not come equipped with this alarm. If your car comes with it, there should be two buttons on the lower left dash. One is the hatch button, and next to it on the right is the motion sensor (disable) button.
