Not Ken! lol

From what I understand, on May 23rd, all dealers that are eligible will receive at least 1 coupe allocation!

Naturally, those large dealers that sell alot of vettes will get more then one!!

It is basically saying the first consensus cycle is the second cycle of May (which is the 23rd as I recall.)

This cycle will cover production build allocations through August.

There won't be a cycle in the month of June so you won't see any new orders added until at least July. This is basically saying you won't see any additional cars allocated to you after the May cycle until at least the first July cycle.

All 900 dealers on the list for the first production allocations should plan on getting a minimum of one coupe in this cycle. If they only built 900 coupes, each dealer would get one distributed equally.

If they go beyond the 900 number they will start distributing those again with the volume dealers and allocate based on prior sales.

Are you saying that they are going to produce the C7 in May(starting on the 23rd), then not produce any in June and then start producing them again in July? Are the going to take the first two weeks off in July like they use to do(resulting in no production during that two week plant shutdown)?

Right now all the dealers' orders are at status code 1100. The May 23rd consensus will select at least one coupe order from each eligible dealer. Those orders leave 1100 and proceed through other statuses for a couple months until they reach status "3800 - Produced". All the cars are stored in the big lot out back. When the lot gets really full a decision is made to release them all for shipping. Sometimes later-produced cars get shipped before the earliest ones. The cars being produced now through June are captured test fleet cars for evaluation. They carry production code WD1 - Pilot Vehicle. At some future date certain WD1 cars have been known to be sold "used" through the GM dealer auction system.

I will be in shock if massive allocation dealers like Kerbeck and MacMulkin get ONE COUPE in the initial allocation, especially since MacMulkin has been guaranteed 250 units in the first 6 to 9 months, I know they will "ramp up" more later but really, ONE UNIT???? Seems hard to fathom...

Each allocated dealer will get at "least" one. That takes care of 900. If they can produce 180 per day x 4 days x 4 weeks in August that would be 2880 total. I suspect the additional @ 2000 will be allocated on a percentage basis.

It may have been asked before, but I cannot find it. Do we have an idea of the total number of C7s were in the allocation?

We know a tad less than 900 dealers will get at least one car. Watching the posts my wild guess is the average dealer (of the 900) will get about 10. That would say about 9,000 cars allocated in the first 6-9 months. Lets be optimistic and say it is for 6 months, so that would be 1,500 cars a month in the consensus.

So, this post kinda says the first consensus will be for two months production, or 3,000 C7s (all coupes). If each dealer gets 1, that would leave 2,100 or about 26% of the 8,100 allocations left over from the "every dealer gets 1" statement.

If my dealer gets 15, then he could get an additional 3-4 (26%0f 2,100 is 3.6) cars in the first allocation. If that is true, then his total would be 4-5 cars in the first pass. I am number 4 on his list.... Geeeze this could mean I might make the first cut.

I clearly have too much time on my hands :-)

Exactly correct. Since the final total for the first consensus cycle is an unknown, GM is only committing to the expectation that each of the allocated dealers will get a car (coupe only). Anything over and above that will be divided starting with the highest grossing dealer on a percentage or ratio basis.

Good analysis and an accurate representation of what could happen.

What isn't known is what that ramp up will be nor what that total will be.

Production starts slowly at first. It may take a while before maximum weekly production is achieved.

I have talked to two dealers, each listed on the Chevrolet site as C7 dealers, and each telling me they are getting 3 coupes. As of 5/25 neither one had received an allocation. Did I misunderstand that all 900 dealers would get at least 1 coupe in the first allocation?

No, you did not misunderstand. All of the approximately 900 dealers that qualified for the C7 initial 6-9 months will get at least 1 coupe in this first consensus cycle. If they don't know they got one, they are not paying attention - and may have missed their opportunity.

Default Prepare yourself for HEAVY "market adjustment"

Those who think that "within 6 months" big discounts are coming are seriously mistaken... Watch and learn... perhaps in a year or two those looking to save a few bucks will find a deal, NOT in 2013 and probably not for at least through summer of 2014..., in the meantime, I will enjoy my new Stingray from MacMulkin

Have you read today's posting from Wes at Reliable Chevrolet? $1,000 off MSRP on his convertible allocations.

Not even in production and you can buy one(when they are in production) for a $1,000 discount. Kind off blows your assumption out the windows.

PS- The first 6-9 month allocations of the C7 are not sold out at the 900 Chevrolet dealers that are receiving them. Plenty of them will be sitting unsold shortly and discounts will be the norm before the 2015's go into production next July.
