C7 curved side marker lights
I know there has been a lot of discussion on the rear tail lights... But what are your thoughts on the curved side marker lights around the wheels?... Do you like'em curved?... Or would you like'em better with a more angled design to match the rest of the car?
Curved design...

I like them as GM designed them. To me they flow because they follow the curved wheel wells.

You need them to be round so you can find the wheel wells with the black rims. Even more so at night... I think it is a design feature I am not trying to be funny. Not so much with light colored cars but dark cars.
When I say find..I mean your eyes finding them as a part of the car. Not like find in looking for them like they are hidden.

Burning Brakes
One of the thing I did on my Benz was replace the Orange Side markers with Clear Markers. Huge improvment (on a white car)!!! Ive been warned it wont pass inspection this way, buts its past two so far.
I would consider aftermarket "clear" ones for the C7.

I think they look fine the way they are although remember only a small spot portion of that lens will actually illuminate,
and i could swear iv seen that exact side marker previously used maybe on the CTS or XLR? can't remember right now

You're right, that has been a trend lately on several cars. Better to integrate the lamps into a shape thats already there than to stick them all by themselves in an open area.

Melting Slicks
I like them also. They follow the flat surface around the wheel well. I thought they looked great a year and a half ago when Jalopnik showed them on their leaked renderings. The Lambo LP560 also does that but I think Corvette has a cleaner look.
Here is some thoughts on the design back in November of 2011 when the Jalopnik Renderings were first shown. Even talked about the flat surfaces around the wheel wells then. Also talked about the lights integrated into them.
From November 2011
Looks like a combo of a Lambo LP 560 and a Ferrari SuperAmerica
After viewing these rendering's for the last week I am seeing lot's of LP560 and some Ferrari SuperAmerica. Notice how the body panels are folded edge like a Lambo . Ferrari's tend to be more curvilinear. I think the Corvette designers have done a very good job of blending these Italian design cues with the Corvette design vernacular without making it too obvious. Notice how the rear 3/4 section is a convex profile while the Lambo is slightly more slab sided. Both LP 560 and SuperAmerica have flattened edges at the wheel arches with the Lambo having a vent at the front edge of the crease line. The new Vette design has inserted side lights which could really look great at night. The roofline certainly emulates the Lambo's even though it is mid engined cab forward profile while the Vette is front mid engined cab rearward profile. The rear hatch on the Vette reaches all the way back to the rear. The plan view and side profile view on the Vette backend are also convex curves just like Lambo.
The vent behind the front wheel does resemble the GTR's but could also relate to the SuperAmerica's. I think this design is spectacular and will move Corvette to a more exotic look while still paying homage to it's design traditions. It's very difficult to view a two dimensional rendering like this for most people. Until you see it with your own eye's which is three dimensional, most of you will not get it. This car will look stunning when finally cleaned up design wise and design detailed.

Third party vendor has black out lenses on the drawing board. I think I pop for them for our silver car.
