I went back and forth...going with a coupe.
We plan on travelling a lot with it and yes the convertible is nice round town and on the freeway for short rides but 4-5 hours on the freeway at 80 with the top down is a lot.
Yes you can put the top up but its not going to be as quiet and no it does not look nearly as good with the top up.
I'm also a spring/fall driver so I'd spend 2 months driving around with the top up.
If the C7 is as good of a seller as they hope I might do the same. Buy the coupe and see if I want a vert later on after I can drive one and see how it is with the top up.
I think if supply remains constrained you could sell one/buy the other without too much of a loss.

You can also certainly argue that the vert with the top down is as quiet if not quieter than the coupe with the targa off as the coupe's 'halo' and cargo area causes a LOT of wind turbulence/noise.
Looks, of course, are always debatable.
I'd always suggest test driving both and see what you think.

I have always preferred the Corvette convertible over the Coupe for both looks and fun. The only exception would have been the C2 Coupes (they looked the best in a Coupe IMHO). With that said, I drive a '12 Coupe. The reason is for financial and practicality purposes. The C7 Coupe is $5000 less than the convertible and you can still get that convertible feel when removing the roof. If money is not an object...go for the Vert, if it is... go for the Coupe. I will most likely go for C7 Coupe for financial reasons.

I think most who have test driven both (C6 of course) would tell you the convertible with the top up is definitely quieter than the coupe is because the rear end (where most of the tire and tranny noise comes from) is closed off from the passenger compartment. The coupe's rear window angle funnels those noises up to the driver and passenger.
You can also certainly argue that the vert with the top down is as quiet if not quieter than the coupe with the targa off as the coupe's 'halo' and cargo area causes a LOT of wind turbulence/noise.

No help :( I still don't know
Hello,
Sorry for the spelling. I was typing on my cell phone.
Anyway. I can't tell which looks better from the videos of the 2014 vette.
Half you want the coupe, the other half the convertible.
I was number 5 on the list for the Coupe. The dealership called for me to order a coupe and I said I'm holding off until I can order the convertible. I am #1 on the list for the Convertible at my local dealer.
Its probably too late to order the coupe now. Each dealership only gets a certain allotment and they are probably are already ordered.
I have looked at hundreds of pics and videos I really can't decide which one I like better.
I hate spending 65000 for something and not even being able to see it before I order.
THIS IS KILLING ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The z51 coupe gets my vote as the more striking super car..
The convertible is nice but the coupe screams holly sh t!
The coupe needs the 19/20 rims where the vert can get by with 18/19 inch wheels..the vert is visually lower so the smaller diameter rims are ok. On the coupe...I in my opinion it must have the 19/20 inch wheels to balance the design.
