GM spent a pretty penny developing a UV proof clear for the exposed carbon. And the electronics... seriously? It's 2013. You guys understand this is how it went with the C5 and C6 as well right? I can't comment on previous generations as they were built at a different plant.

I would be happy if a call to any of the three would result in something other than a reference to the tracking page that tells me I'm still "Queued For Production"

There are a lot of ways customers could have been kept apprised of the progress of their orders. For the 21st century, the chosen method, to put it succinctly, sucks.

When I put my deposit down in April, I didn't expect to see a new C7 in my driveway before October. So in that regard I'm not particularly frustrated by the fact that my car hasn't yet been produced. But as the end of the third quarter drew closer, I expected to hear from GM what the overall C7 progress is and in particular the status and progress of my order. A simple email push keyed to order number shouldn't be too hard to manage, should it?

hey, buddy ... be thankful for all those 'old geezers with their chrome wheels' ... now, and in years past .... or you wouldn't be seeing all those world class sportscars sitting on that lot - baking in all that nasty hot sun - today!

I wonder where the old appliance plant was located, you know, the one that was remodeled and in which the C4 Corvette came to life?

Long before deposits were accepted by dealers for potential C7s, the communication chasm existed and still does. I think of it like this: the C7 likely has 3000 customer retail orders on the books with 900 dealers authorized to order, and the new Malibu likely had 300 with almost 3100 dealers authorized to order. Pre-orders are an exception to the way modern car companies do business (modern meaning any and all automobile production since Ford introduced the second iteration of the Model T) and so far Chevy has not adjusted. Not to say they won't, just to say they have not. And have not because there appears to be no clear and present need to adjust.

I still expect dealers to start receiving 2014 Stingrays this coming Monday and Tuesday. That means I believe less than two retail orders have left the Bowling Green Assembly Plant as I post.

I agree with you, but we are full of GM-apologetics who are trying to defend GM and their lack of care by saying that the paints are good for the sun, and what are we worrying about.

I guess I would have hoped that GM would let their CUSTOMER's decide how they want to treat their cars and instead put their energy and focus in pro-actively communicating with their customers.

I am 31. I ordered black wheels. I am not a fan of black wheels. I am less of a fan of silver wheels. I am even less of a fan of paying $1500 to chrome wheels I can have done for $700. I couldn't bring myself to pay $700 to powder coat my calipers red which is just a color change from what they are already doing anyway no matter how much money I have so I will be doing it myself.

When my tires need to be replaced they will accompany some new chrome or polished aftermarket wheels. Just like all my other Vettes

Gm'er if u decide to delete those orders (1st 100), I would like to suggest replacing them with vert orders if you are still willing and interested in doing it. Thanks - by the way my vert order is RGPJJ3. Appreciate all you have done.

Very cool that you can fly over and check the lot for us

Don't be surprised if there are a lot more cars in the lot than last time...

Hey, everyone. Back on topic before you get this thread locked on me. If you are not posting an order number to get your status, please move your discussion to you own thread, thanks.

As for the status codes:

4D00 - Vehicle on Hold - BH - BATCH & HOLD - PLANT
4P00 - Don't have a good description, seems to be a place holder, but is after 4D00

All of these events are PRIOR to 4200 - Shipped

As I have said before. GM WILL make an announcement when cars ship.

Hey,

Hoping you can help me out. Can you look up RGPF25 an see where it's at? My dealer told me I made the consensus last week. When I use the Chevy tracker it just shows order placed and to contact the dealer. I appreciate it!

Thank you. So that means I was, in fact, accepted in the last week's consensus, correct? Can I sleep better at night now?

congratulations on placing an order for your new chevrolet. Your dealer has received an order number from chevrolet. Once your dealer has an available production slot, your order will be scheduled for production.
