Chevrolet announced on Friday that it will build a limited run of 500 units of a special 2014 Corvette Stingray Coupe named the Premiere Edition, with all units being top-of-the-line 3LT models. With this model, GM will basically kick off production of the 2014 Corvette Stingray.
All limited-run editions feature a Laguna Blue Tintcoat exterior with a Brownstone suede interior along with a suede-wrapped interior trim and carbon fiber packages.
On the outside, distinctive elements include a visible carbon fiber roof, variable tuned performance exhaust system and the Z51 Performance Package with Magnetic Selective Ride Control.
Unique extras include “stinger” hood stripe, “Stingray”-logo interior sill plates and wheel caps and even a custom Corvette-branded luggage from Thule. Chevrolet says all Premier Edition models will have a unique vehicle identification number (VIN) starting with 300001, as well as an exclusive dash plaque to remind owners they drive a special Corvette.
There are no changes under the hood where you will find the standard 6.2-liter, 455-horsepower LT1 V8 engine.

Op this is already discussed on at least 4 other threads... But what the heck gives me another chance to express my displeasure with this edition. Why just why... Hope the Corvette team does read this forum. They got some making up to do... Makes me even second guess my choice of Laguna blue.

What a friggn joke! Here I am with a deposit on this car since February without a clue as to when I will get it, and they announce a special edition. Tells me that the orders from the 900 dealers are not as brisk as they thought they were going to be. I actually feel like cancelling the order and staying with another quality Benz.
GM will always be GM, classless!!!!

I missed the announcement for this reveal some how ..... but nonetheless it's incredibly lame.
I really believe they [GM] have followed the March Hare down the rabbit hole. Would explain a lot .

How many more threads will there be about the SamsoniteRay?
Wow something so simple just sets some of you guys off. It's just a marketing bit to get something in the press and in dealers showrooms to talk about.
It doesn't appeal to me either but really --some of you need to calm down.

Why are some of you pretty much claiming the blue is ruined? Sure they came out with a premium deal that alienates those who ordered early, therefore, somewhat punishing you from stepping up early, but it doesn't make the blue color any less appealing.

I really must be missing the boat on why this is so upsetting to so many people. I actually like the car, (especially the Stingray sill plate) and think the concept is kind of cool. Not thrilled that the first 500 puts my delivery further behind, but I don't see what everyone has their panties in a bunch over it. If you don't like it, I'm sure 500 other people will and they will be sold fast.

Yep. Its really not a big deal. I think most people (including myself) were anticiapting a little more "pow" from the reveal. Its all good. There is so much excitement about the vehicle, that this seemed a little bit of a let down. However as Dave stated "its the Premiere" edition, meaning that it is simply a show car to "premiere" the launch of the new brand. Kind of makes sense, just should have been set up better by GM.
