As I stated in another thread >
________________________________
For any of you folks thinking about purchasing one of the 500 Special Premier Edition C7s, I remind you ....
For God's Sake ... don't loose the luggage that comes with this car ! ! !
Without that special luggage, your selling price for this car at a later date will be drastically reduced from what it would have been had you still included the special luggage with the car.
Immediately store that luggage in large vacuum sealed plastic bags and out of the sunlight!
A Premier Edition C7 without the luggage would be akin to buying a COPO 1969 ZL1 Camaro and finding out that it's aluminum 427 engine had been replaced at some time with a 350 (unthinkable).

I wonder how long it will take the Corvette Museum to start offering that C7 logo luggage for sale in there on-line store?
Maybe Chinese fakes to be sold on Ebay for half the price the Corvette Museum sells the complete set for?

FWIW..lost in all the whining about this reveal was the fact that this car goes directly to dealers and you won't find it in the order book.
Watch the video at about 5:40.

I agree. The luggage shown looks like any other with a Corvette logo. They could have done it right and designed luggage to fit perfectly in the car and do what some other companies do, Ferrari for example, and make it from leather that matches the interior color.

It could be that there will be a set like that for the higher dollar crowd...

Safety Car
You are missing the point. I was here when the C5 and C6 launched and we went months without regularly having a car on the showroom floor for people to look at. Some people don't want to order a car until they've had a chance to see it in person, sit in it, etc. This is actually a very cool thing GM is doing so that there are cars out there for people to see in the showrooms!

I'm thinking the time required to push these in front of ordered buyers is not really an issue in and of itself since I doubt there are many who would have decided against ordering knowing that the first days of production would be allotted to dealer floor vehicles. I do believe however that they should have know up front. Despite the hell many gave (and are giving) SRT over their launch issues at least the buyers knew when they put their money down which cars were going to be built and it what order. This in my opinion is the right thing to do.
Lets face it Dave, of course this is going to be a popular option with major dealers that will get more than their share of these. They get a car they can throw on the floor and sell with as much markup as the market will bear compared to ordered cars which obviously you cant get much over msrp for when most people who are smart enough to shop around will know the going rate for most large dealers is msrp at this time. It just seems a bit disingenuous to say that this is for the good of buyers. The vast majority will never see one of these cars up front of buying or for that matter, ever.

I guess the luggage is nice ... but, I think GM would have been smarter to just include a $500 gasoline gift certificate with each of these 500 cars instead of the Walmart variety of Corvette logo black nylon luggage (with red zippers).

Noooo ............. this car is designed for the "cars and coffee" person that craves bragging rights. Hence the numbered dash plaque. Other than that, the entire car can be built from the order menu.
