Default Brownstone/Kalahari mix up

I have seen quite a few people on here posting about the color combo's they were ordering, plus a few calling one call another.

Then I saw the post from Kerbeck about what color was what and realized Chevy has done a very poor job of making information to order a car sight unseen.

They did not even know at Bloomington how different the 2LT and 3LT's would be depending on color.

So to clear that up, here is Brownstone and Kalahari. I saw someone posting they were ordering a CRM with Brownstone, which to each his own but I think would look pretty odd, which got me thinking maybe they meant Kalahari since all the pics of the CRM cars have Kalahari.

So here is Brownstone:

And here is Kalahari:

Hopefully that clears up the confusion.

Adding to the confusion is the fact the Chevy had them switched initially on the "Enemy of the Same" reveal pages.

To me, Kalahari looks like a new baseball glove (too much orange in it for my tastes). I wish it was more like the C6 cashmere color.

I hope the red shown is the Torch Red, cause mine is coming with Torch Red and 3LT in Kalahari. Sure looks , can't wait.

Side question, I've yet to see one showing the satellite antenna. Has anyone else seen one? Getting used to the shark fins on my current Lexus and other cars and think it would look ok on the C7 but where? Just aft of the removable roof? Wouldn't look too good on the deck lid with the spoiler.

They are hidden in the outside mirrors. Only the first year C5 had a visible satellite antenna.

I'm with you Zymurgy. I wish the Kalahari was a little more like Cashmere. Having said that, I ordering CRM with 2LT Kalahari. I'm thinking 3LT was a little "too much" and the 2LT black dash and door panels will tone it down plus it saves a couple thousand I can spend on other goodies.

Many are correct that pictures often shows a wrong/inaccurate color tone when reproduced. this is true of many colors, especially red and especially Kalahairi.

I too have seen many Kalahairi pictures that have too much orange tone, are too dark, or some that are too light. Have seen Kalahairi up close and the picture below is the best/most accurate color rendition of how it actually looks to your eye when you are standing right next to it.

I have seen both. I went with brownstone which is IMO a much softer leather look. The Kalahari is still to light a color for me.

The pics I posted were all color corrected and white balance corrected. Granted that means you have to have an accurate monitor though.

Out of the pics I posted the last 2 were the most accurate. The first 2 had a lot of exterior lighting effecting how it looked.

That being said where did that picture come from? I've wanted to see a 2LT interior with Kalahari and that is it.

Well, to me the distinction has always been pretty clear. The Brownstone is more, say, BROWN ; the Kalahari is more like desert sand.............

^ Fine !!!! Just jump into a THREAD that is based on the interior color confusion, and, in 1 hyphenated sentence, clear up the whole matter. Now we're gonna need to find an entirely new confusing topic

I agree that the last two of your set (post by NoOne) were accurate. The picture of the 2LT Kalahairi above and the one below came from the North American International Auto Show (Detroit).
