Default C7 service manuals

Are the service manuals for the C7 ready for customers? I have purchased a manual for each of my cars and would like one for the stingray.

Not yet. It has been rumored that there will not be one offered in the car either. You will need to go online.

I wish they would make the service manuals available in PDF to everyone.

Umm...I think you are talking about the Owners Manual, not the Service Manuals. OP asked about Service Manuals.

A thousand years ago when I first got into Vettes there was a service manual offered in the car. There was a coupon for Helm service manuals in the back of the owners manual. pdf, what's a pdf?

I love having my service manuals in pdf format. I use my tablet while working on my car...I wonder how many people do the same...I used to be worried about getting grease on the tablet but after a year of doing it and using a little Plexus cleaner after work I find that the tablet is amazing. No grease stained pages in my Haynes manuals or whatnot. Plus the built in hyperlinks make navigating the service manuals a snap.

I almost want to buy one of those Google glass contraptions for working on my car now. Imagine having a HUD while working under the car and being able to navigate the manual by voice! Ah technology, how I love thee

Portable document format. It is a universal format invented by Adobe Systems. It's purpose is to allow everyone to read a file without having to purchase Word, Word Perfect or any of the many other software products which were and still are expensive. The Adobe reader is free to everyone and allows you to read PDF documents.

Yes, that would be cool. Imagine a step further where the screen displays an image of the engine bay in your view, overlaying the actual engine you are looking at. Then it highlights the part you need to address.

OK. It was early in the morning and I missed your joke. I took you seriously and thought I would help. That is what I get for thinking. Anyway, maybe it will help somebody else.

Despite the fact that I have access to Mitchell OnDemand, I like to have my own copy of the full service manual as well. The Helm website indicates that it won't be available until next Spring.

You may be able to get one sooner thru the dealer. Ask an employee to order it for you to take advantage of their employee discount.

I'm sure someone will be selling the GM Service VM software on ebay soon. Then it's like you're a tech at a dealership. Bring up the exact same system they use at the dealer with the manual.

It's a little nicer than the PDF cause all the links work and take you to the correct page in the manual.

Typically, it's about 6 months or so after the first new vette of the MY comes out before a service manual is available.

I thought I remembered seeing this. A buddy of mine is a local BMW Service Manager and brought it to my attention several years ago.

Pretty cool idea. I can think of more useful uses of those glasses too.

My mistake. Hasty read. I was referring to owners manual.

Thank you for the correction.

that's too bad, because I cant make a good purchase decision without one. if i'd have read the manual on the c6z's nannies in the manual, i probably would not have bought one.

I just checked on this, and the release date is now stated as 6/8/2014.

We will have them available for our valued forum members when Helm makes them available.
