Default Another dealer story

In 1997 I ordered a very early c5 from a dealer, but was young and naive,
When the car came in the dealer told me MSRP + $10,000. I suggested that he should keep the car and give me my deposit back. (This dealer later went out of business)

I went to another local dealer and got a c5 a little under MSRP but it was 3-4 months later. Since then I have purchase 4 other Corvettes from this second dealer and they are also the sponsor for our Corvette club.

I told them I wanted to be first and was ready to make a deposit on January 13th but they said wait. Short version of story I keep pressing them to put a contract on paper for MSRP. In March they finally tell me that it will be MSRP + $10,000. At first I think they are kidding!

I have since ordered elsewhere at MSRP and I'm at 2000 and waiting.

My point is how stupid is this dealership? I will NEYVER buy another Corvette from them or any other car they market. An existing customer with a good relationship, 16 years of warranty and service work and all out the door so they can screw some newbi with a pocket of cash!

Thanks I feel better!

...when I ordered my C5, at the end of 1996, I was also pretty
naive. Money was never discussed. The car came in March of 97,
and again, money was never discussed. It didn't matter to me, but they
only charged me MSRP.
That dealership is #1 in PA, and only a few miles from me.

Fastforward to 1/13/13...time to order the C7. Common sense says to go back to the 97 dealer, right? Not me. I ordered it from a MD dealer.... simply because he's a forum sponsor.

I love this freakin' forum.
