Wow, that's a stretch. (That goes without saying.) I guess it's like looking at the clouds and picking out a dragon. Or looking at a steering wheel and picking out a stingray. Says more about the person seeing the shape "hidden" in the steering wheel I suppose.

Here's some more "hidden fish" steering wheels for your viewing pleasure.

I wonder if they all know they are trying to hide a stingray in their steering wheel.

Have a nice day!

Interesting that it was one of the first things I noticed as well. Ugh, those things are garbage, unless they've figured out a way to keep them from falling apart.

I have those in my '05 and I think they work well enough. I never had the hooks.

I was going to say the same thing but you beat me to it. Maybe with a different interior like Kalahari it wouldn't look so drab w/o the C/F.

Making the wheel look like a real stingray fish is a bit corny for me. I'd rather have a more serious look to the wheel than something playful.

I dare anyone to look out that rear porthole window from the driver's seat and see anything of value.

Really?! They ripped straight out of the carpet of my old '07! Those hooks were the first thing I noticed too. I sure hope they corrected durability issues with those.

These are the most amount of interior pics i've seen of the car. Thanks OP!
After seeing the grey dash i think the carbon fiber option is a MUST. Although i'd probably wait for an aftermarket solution. But i'm surprised GM couldn't do better...

Frankly I'm having a difficult time seeing any kind of "fish" in the steering wheel. I think your mind is playing tricks on you.
LOL! Didn't you listen to the BASH video discussing the interior design? That's what they said.

What's so funny is that I didn't see it until they brought it up. Now it's rather obvious.

I just noticed from the pics that the passenger has 2 sets of heated/cooled seats. One on the center console, and the other on the right side of the dash.

Nope, I watched all the BASH videos and didn't hear anything about a fish steering wheel.

Then you missed it because I called it out in the thread started in that video. I said, in fact in that thread, that the idea that they decided at the last minute to call it a Stingray doesn't hold water when they said they designed the steering wheel to look like a Stingray.

Anyway, it does look like a Stingray. It's pretty obvious.

These are the first interior pics that have really got me scared. I ordered the jet black and no CF in a 2LT and I think it’s going to look pretty blah….. After market CF to cover more of the dash and center console will be a must. Thanks for the pics.

There were a number of interior build quality issues on this pre-production model. I'm sure they will be taken care of prior to production.

Isn't there some car commercial that shows just that?

The order Myliobatiformes contains 178 species of stingrays in all kinds of different shapes. Maybe some marine biologist will think of one that looks just like the C7 steering wheel.

Default Observations...

In pix #3:
The gap between the dash and top of the drivers door looks pretty wide. Hope that's just a pre-production issue;
The stitching on the steering wheel looks like it could be uncomfortable on a long ride if the drivers holds the wheel tight.
In #12 how would rubber mats be held in place with this set up. Remove the carpet mats?
Just sayin'
