Default C7 Fuel Rail Covers

Noticed the absence of an engine reference on the C7 Fuel Rail Covers - unlike the C6, it simply says Corvette.

Anyone infer anything from that? Here's a pic from another recent thread.

My C5 only has the word "Corvette" on the fuel rail covers, so it seems pretty normal to me.

After market will have colors and maybe the engine size and/or Stingray lettering.

Anyone know what that little silver thing near the washer fluid cap is? Looks like a round peg on top of an octagon, bolted down in two places. I didn't see it on any of the other engine photos.

Lets see how many different engines are there in the C7? There is the LT1 and also the LT1, so maybe that is why they do not have the engine designation on it. Then again maybe they did that to keep the cost down on the C7. Who knows why it simply says CORVETTE.

Was hoping that someone would chime in with what I was thinking. Based on everything you read about the LT1, there appears to be a huge HP upside, and a good deal of it from software. While that's not totally unlike the LS3, the engine is completely different and it almost seems like the Z model may use a slight variant same engine??? This would be a departure from the LS7 and LS9 - the LS9 being somewhat similar, but totally different internals.

So it could be that the LT1 design has been charged with keeping the costs down for developing the Z model???

Yep - that there is your Acme DX7000 Flux Capacitor. You're welcome

I see Corvettes at car shows with all sorts of glue on, stock on crud. I even saw an LS1 which had a 350 Cu In sticker. Is there no end to making a great car shabby?

Nope, no end to it. You see it with almost every kind of car. I've seen people put a miata on a jacked up suspension with huge tires like a mini monster truck, I've seen people put huge wings on the trunk lids of audis, I've seen a wrangler with what looks like a neon orange version of the old trans am eagle on the hood and the list goes on and on.

Of course for every one of those cars that makes me facepalm and ask "why would anyone do that?", you know there's someone who thinks its awesome and is really happy with it, so more power to 'em (or at least I try to force myself to think that way, usually I still just complain about how bad it is).

Fuel Rail covers...

got rid of them during the first year or two of ownership:
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-t...lute-zero.html

will be also looking at that option for the C7; though it might be tooo cluttered underneath...
