You can see in above pic why they blacked out the lower fascia on the C7...it has an even bigger butt than the C5 , which at the time of its release was criticized for that and the label never wore off.
So those who will paint to match that area on the C7 , esp on light colored cars, should take that into consideration.
I think the designers should have penned a 1/3 2/3 split , not the more extreme 50/50 , to mute the slabbiness of the back clip, but the license plate and especially the ginormous exhaust tips right below it forced their hand for using the higher horizontal crease.

All of these testers at Milford are coming out with the same conclusions: the Corvette guys did a great job with the C7, a vast improvement over the C6.
The C6 is still a great car, but it's going to be hard to resist the new vette.
