Default when people ask you what you drive will you say "stingray"?
Hello - When people ask you what you drive, will you say "stingray" instead of "corvette", and then roll your eyes if they ask for clarification?

Yes. I'll probably say "The C7 Stingray"

Agreed that I wont be a snob about it. Many people look at the c7 wallpaper on my desktop and ask if it's a "Ferrari or something"

I tell people I drive a Chevy 3-door hatchback.

For the C7, I think I'll say "Corvette" to preclude the "A what?" response to just "Stingray." Maybe if they come out with the Z cars later, I'll specify "Corvette Stingray."

The only place the name is specified is on the console plaque and on the optional sill plates if you get them, so how are average people going to know it's a Stingray? By guessing what the shiny thing is on the side? I don't think so.

But honestly, it's been many, many years since anyone asked me what I drive.

I would say Corvette StingRay. Just like I would say Corvette GrandSport. No matter what Gen they are or what Model, they are all Corvettes first.

That's almost like me--I say it's just a ridiculous old Chevy hatchback with a lot of miles. If/when I can score a C7 it will be a vert, though.
