Default Air venting in the suede seats

Along the lines of the suede seat inserts of the 3LT Brownstone interior. With he perforated seat you have ventilation/cooling. What about with the suede. Do you sacrifice the ventilation in the suede seats?

The suede is perforated too. I don't think there is any option that is not perforated.

Can suede by perforated ? I suppose it can - guess it's just another finish of leather ?

Here is the jet black with suede inserts. Clearly perforated.

This is not real suede (you would not want it to be). It is a man made micro fiber that goes by the trade name of Alcantara or Ultrasuede. The man made version is much more resistant to stains, is more durable and is easier to clean.

It will work fine. Wife's cts-v with recarroro's are ultra suede and ventilated and work great!

This is one feature I am really looking forward to in the Vegas heat. My GF's Lexus has it and it works pretty well.

Am I correct to assume "Ventilated Seats" = Air Conditioned Seats?

I don't think so... it is cabin air blown through the seat. In theory, cooler air.

Hopefully you are right however if it is like the ventilated seats in the new XTS you will probably be disappointed. The air is drawn thorough the seat not blown out the seat. Even on high setting you do not notice the effect at all if the humidity is low. Obviously this is a fairly constant phenom in Vegas. The only time my XTS seats felt cool is when we had "high" (for Vegas) humidity. Then you could feel the cooling effect of the air drawn back into the seats. On the other hand the AC in the XTS is very effective regardless of the temps and will keep you as cool or cold as you like.

Perforation is nothing more than being stamped with a series of small holes. Anything can be perforated.

It's not real suede. It is "Alcantara" , a synthetic faux suede, at least I think it is.

Why would they choose to draw air thru? It seems counter-intuitive. Unless they think that a low pressure area under your butt feels cooler. But I would expect that there would be almost no low pressure area under your butt since must of the air will be drawn thru the perforations that are not covered with any body parts.

Do all the competition seats draw the air through?

I am not sure the C7 will be done the same way that GM did the new XTS, but in the XTS it is definitely a 'draw through' set up. There has been a fair amount of posting of the poor end result of this set up on the XTS site.
