Here is a link to the 21 pictures I took Friday of the chassis for the 2014 Stingray. Not everyday you get to see this.

Thanks for these pics. Never have I seen the chassis of my previous cars. Being a Mechanical Designer, I scrutinized all the details of the chassis assembly but, where does the gas tank sit?

Awesome photos -- thank you for posting them!

The Corvette C7 truly is a work of art, both inside and out.

It's beautiful in all its aluminum and composite glory... I hope they're going to coat or paint the chassis before assembly.

I don't know if you ever saw it but when Ford introduced the Ford GT, they literally sawed one in half, right down the middle of the crankshaft. Then you could walk between the two halves and see everything. I honestly don't know how they did it.

I saw it at SEMA about 2008 or something like that.

Thanks, those were very descriptive photos. Possibly too items of discussion here in the forums are seen. One, there is definitely a fan on the transaxel oil cooler, and two I noticed the mufflers were coated or painted with a black finish. Some weeks ago there were photos of them just at the rear of the muffler and they showed some type of rust or oxidation. Maybe that's fixed.

Also you can see very easily were the sump tank is and where to add/check the oil.

The Corvette fuel tanks (plural) are behind the driver and passenger seat in the bulkhead wall under the carpet. They are in a saddle bag configuration that straddles the driveline with a connecting line between the two.

Very nice pics. Sure shows how a fender bender behind the right front wheel is going to cause a big problem.

I think it is more likely the whole exhaust was painted black in the cut-away display to create visual contrast making it easier for your eyes to separate exhaust from drive train.

too cool! I think my favorite part of that cutaway is how you can see the duct work within the body leading down to its respective heat exchanger..
