Default Z51 lt2 vs lt3

I'm on the fence for the lt2 to lt3 I'm going jet black with the competitive seats. Will it be worth to upgrade for 3k for the lt3? I'm already adding nav to the lt2.

Remember, you asked.

Since you're going all black, unless you are sensitive to the all leather experience of the 3LT, IMO it isn't worth it.

It wasn't worth it to me. I did the same thing, 2LT, Z51, NAV. I sit in the leather seats, turn with the leather steering wheel and shift with the leather shift ****. I never touch the dash.

Not to mention that if you live in the desert you will be baking leather instead of plastic (or whatever the standard stuff is) any time you are forced to park it uncovered.

Not worth it with Jet Black.

The faux leather wrap is a hybrid vinyl and silk protein material. It is a pretty good leather fake.

With a black interior, going 3LT is completely worthless.

Only the brownstone and Kalahari are worth the 3LT price upgrade if you can afford it..

Maybe it's me but the 3lt seemed like a worthwhile upgrade because of the leather dash. My current audi has one and it just holds up so much better than plastic dashes (scratches etc..). It's generally only me in my car but over several years it's easy for some friend or gf to put a scratch in the dash - which shows obviously in black.

Oddly enough I'm struggling with the competition seats. It looks like their is more side bolster but not that much - I'm trying to figure out if they are worth the 2k more.

All black stick with 2LT, don't waste your money. Use that $3k to buy some deep dish aftermarket black rims. I'd even get rid of the upgraded wheels that come with the 2LT if you can.

I'm doing red which is more of a contrast then black. But I am going to a local upholstery shop to add some custom touches. For over the 3k net of nAv I can make it unique and beu money ahead.

But even the 1LT dash is not plastic. It's wrapped in a faux leather that is nearly indistinguishable from actual leather. So you're getting better material, but when the base material is already pretty nice, in a black interior you don't get a better color coverage like you do with Kalahari or brownstone. I wouldn't 3 LT red or grey either because it's not a complete color coverage. It looks patchy to me.

Interesting. Did not know that about the dash not being plastic. That piece is why I was going to upgrade to 3LT. Might just save a few thousand then and go with 2lt. Thanks for the info.

That is kind of the problem with so many of us not being able to see cars in person. We can't evaluate equipment, materials, colors and options that matter to us. Just one reason I'm waiting.
