Default Corvette Magazine hard on Auto Tranny.

I just got my Dec. issue of Corvette Magazine and they are sure not complimentary of the auto trans in the C7. Even go as far as recommending ordering the auto with the base suspension to get better shift performance without ruining ride quality.

Their best solution is to wait for Chevrolet to install a better automatic.

This is all not comforting since I just ordered the auto with Z51.

Thanks a lot. Ralph

I don't expect any mag to like a conventional AT....itll be fine for most of us. My 6.2 camaro AT is more than sufficient....

For an entirely contrary view of the A6 by folks who actually drive and race them see:

Most corvette sales are autos anyway. I think that no more than 20% are stick

You should never use the words "hard on" and "tranny" in the same sentence.

I have said it before. The A6 is not good enough for the C7. It has to be replaced and the sooner the better.

It is funny that some people say don't listen to one mag, But when a mag post something positive everyone listens? I also think the current auto trans may not be good enough for the all new C7, I have an auto trans in my V and I like it but it could be much better, I hope GM comes with something better, soon.

My last issue was No. 84 "October 2013" What happened to November 2013 or did they take that month off, and since when do that send out the Dec. issue in the middle of September ?

It must be in the delivery time to Alaska. Mine is shown as No. 85.

This makes no sense. How does ordering a base suspension give you better shift performance?

Not complementary? How? What specifically did they say? We generally get a link or a significant quote of what was said in a review.

Since this story came out, life for me, as I know it, is over. I can never enjoy my new Stingray knowing it has an automatic trans and Z-51. Biggest mistake I ever made. Now the only time I will drive it will be late at night so no one sees me. My children will stop speaking to me but my wife will stay. Can it get any worse?

Sarcasm...

Yes I think we get your sarcasm. I hope you enjoy it.
I will vote with my cash and hope that enough people do otherwise and tell their dealer GM needs a better transmission. If enough people stop buying the A6 it will force GM to do something. If not then I hope those same people do not complain once they get the A6 while the rest of the automotive world moves forward.

And what specifically is your obvious problem with this transmission?

In my opinion there is no "ligament" complaint. I think the subject is just one of those things people find to whine about and then threaten not to buy the car. Really who gives a rats butt if they buy it or not. Most people on the C7 forum just want the car now...

What ?
From Wikipedia - In anatomy, a ligament is the fibrous tissue that connects bones to other bones and is also known as articular ligament, articular larua,[1] fibrous ligament, or true ligament.
