sounds like the author doesn't know how to drive and can't appreciate the Vette.

Very interesting! My choice came down to these two cars. Ultimately, I chose the Corvette because I've always wanted (to varying degrees) a Corvette and big torque. I drive a Mazda RX-8, which has VERY little low-end torque, but handles very much like the Cayman (and really fun on the track). It was a tough choice! I've got the C7 ordered - just waiting for the order number and the long wait for the car (could have the Cayman S in a couple of days).

Seriously, though, what we have here is the never ending debate wherein what the Vette does better than the Porsche it does WAY better, and, at least since the C5, what the Porsche does better it only does a little bit better (especially, by all reports, when compared with the C7).
For some people, they are wired such that those areas where the Porsche squeaks ahead are weighed very heavily, and so the Vette cannot win them over. Conversely, for most of us hanging out in CF, the areas where the Vette excels receive at lease equal weight -- so the big Vette wins in these parameters mean GET THE VETTE. And so we do....
