Default Wow two unsold c7's in Austin dealer showroom

Stopped by a Chevy dealer in Austin to see if they happened to have any so I could see the car in person. They had two, a cyber gray non-z51 with brown leather and a black z51 with black leather and black wheels. I was shocked when I was told both were unsold. Dealer has changed names in the last few years, it is called autonation Chevrolet now. Oh, both were 2lt with carbon fiber dash and the CG had that transparent top.

The question is, are they asking MSRP?

Plenty around my area that are also unsold. Most are Cyber Gray, which IMHO doesn't do the car justice. My local dealer called me to come down and take a look. Seeing it up-close in CG, I said "no thanx".

I personally picked CG and think it looks great but if I had to do it again today I might do Yellow

No, they are not charging MSRP (99% sure)
I went to Autonation in Austin to put down deposit back in April...
They were putting a $5,000 up charge on them.

that dealership is almost across the street from my house. They're taking bids on those cars starting at 10,000 over MSRP.

There's your answer as to why they still have them... At MSRP they would probably be sold within hours.

It's also why I'd never buy from them and they are just down the street.

They actually have the blind bid forms sitting out, or at least they did last week. You have to sign, maybe leave a cc # if you win, although I wouldn't call that winning.

I had a dealer call me and say they were selling $15-20K over MSRP. I said, "No, thanks."

Then they called again a week later, because a customer just backed out of a sale (probably didn't want to pay the extra markup), and they had his car come in. Now the price was "a little over MSRP. Again, "No. thanks."

This economy isn't that great. My guess, it will be down to MSRP in a couple weeks. I think this will be the shortest markup period in history.

OK, now think about that a little more and YOU tell us why it is DEFINITELY wrong before someone else corrects you. You can do it.

What happens if the Z51 constraint goes for a while? The factory will still make cars and those cars will fill showrooms. You can take advantage of impatient rich folks when there are only a couple cars in town, but that ends when there are a couple or more cars at every dealer.

yeah i posted about this in another thread. i saw both cars two nights ago. if you go to purchase the car they tell you it's not available and you have to goto ebay to bid on it. starting bid was 75,000 for the black 2lt auto, carbon dash, auto trans. this car should be just over $50k after regular discounts. i'm not crazy over the c7 and this pricing is just hidious. i'll save my pennies for the new Z.

I agree the ADM's will go away quickly, the car just came out and they are already sitting on lots. You will have your choice of color to pick from by December.
